About The Job

As the Director of Project Management for the Product Engineering organization, you will utilize your leadership skills and significant talents for Program Management, mobilizing cross-functional teams, delivering solutions for scale and data-driven decision-making, to lead and launch solutions that enable our products in Product Engineering. Your passion, technical and business depth, and excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills will inspire our teams and rapidly establish trust amongst a diverse set of stakeholders.

As a hands-on individual contributor, you will work with autonomy and accountability on our Customer platform in support of our enterprise customers. You are an excellent leader and have experience managing teams through influence across different geographies to produce results in a timely manner. You will also be an excellent collaborator working with product, engineering, product support, training, and delivery teams to maintain production while building product enhancements. Managing priorities, trade-offs, improving productivity, quality standards, resolving systemic problems with urgency, identifying trends and implementing change are all keys to success. You will represent the team and be able to speak to timings, status of defects, etc.

Responsibilities

Partner with Engineering Directors, Product Managers and Leadership to ensure alignment with engineering and product priorities.

Hold cross-functional teams accountable through influence.

Streamline processes, simplify execution, manager objective key results, release on time, bring tooling efficiencies and help teams in execution.

Work closely in partnership with:

o Product Management to understand upcoming roadmap priorities

o Scrum Masters & Release Managers to track releases, hot fixes and patches

o Engineering to establish architectural runway needed to achieve the product roadmap and operational scalability of the existing platform

o Product Support to ensure risks are well understood and have planned mitigation

o Sales and Delivery to track upcoming client integrations and pipeline

Work across multiple time zones with distributed international teams.

Provide timely visibility of critical business impacting platform delivery, product enhancements, and technology issues to business and technology leaders

Track key metrics and identify processes and techniques to meet/exceed metric goals

Proactively communicate with all involved stakeholders to identify problems, create solutions and implement efficiency improvements.

Adjust and adapt to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.

Facilitate recurring meetings with key stakeholders to review metrics, priorities, issues and risks.

Support quarterly roadmap planning by working with cross-functional teams to align on scope and timing to ensure feasibility and past performance are factored in.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience working in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in managing technical projects in a software engineering domain.

5 years of experience in leading teams within technical program management or equivalent roles.

Ability to understand and communicate technical issues to a broad range of technical knowledge levels.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of various project management and software delivery methodologies (e.g. agile, design thinking, lean)

Preferred Qualifications

Proven track record of collaborating effectively across organizational boundaries, building relationships, and importing and exporting talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.

Ability to understand the complex relationship between the organization and its environment, identify connections, adopt different perspectives and quickly respond to changing circumstances in a strategic way.

Ability to demonstrate comfort with changing specifications or standards, and create the conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through in response to ambiguity.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale.

PMP-ACP, PgMP, and/or SAFe certifications
