The Opportunity

Rapid7 is looking for an innovative leader that will take our commitment to learning to the next level. As the Director of People Development reporting to our VP of People Strategy, you will be responsible for leading our incredibly strong People Development team to build, deliver and continuously advance our world-class, innovative learning and professional development programs. Working in close partnership with our People Strategy team, you will continuously monitor and advance how our people learn and grow and whether that learning is being translated into impact in their roles. Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluate our current, Award Winning Learning and Development programs (2018 ATD BEST AWARD Recipient) and drive the evolution of what the future of learning should look like at Rapid7. As the company scales, we are looking to continuously transform how our people learn. Resting on our laurels and settling for status quo doesnt work well here.

  • Oversee the design and development of course curriculum and programs focused on professional and career development, as well as Rapid7s core values.

  • Collaborate with business leaders on development activities (speakers/activities/leader-led trainings) that are aligned with their team specific employee development and business line needs.

  • Assess and help us scale our innovative manager and emerging manager programs.

  • Drive leadership development initiatives (inside and outside the classroom) by addressing the need to prepare our leaders to scale with the growth of the company.

  • In close partnership with our People Strategy team, evaluate the application and impact of training programs on our people.

Job Requirements

You are the kind of person who thrives in ambiguity, has a focus on results, and loves to build and grow a culture of learning.

  • 10-12 years of professional work experience in Learning and Organizational Development (previous experience in a technology environment a plus)

  • Strong leadership experience, not just to build teams but to grow and develop them

  • Experience consulting with leaders and employees at all levels

  • Experience and passion for the development of Leaders and leadership skills

  • Track record in building Learning and People Development strategies tailored to business needs and culture

  • Past experience in curriculum design and development

  • Excellent facilitation skills and stand up training experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Masters with specialization in Human Development/Org Behavior/Org Development a plus

  • Occasional travel required
