Job Overview

Here at EF, safety is always our number one priority. The Director of North American Security will be responsible for creating and implementing physical security standards, policies, and procedures across multiple and varying locations, including shared and independent office spaces and school buildings and campus, as well as identifying and managing security risks and incidents.

General responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conduct organizational assessments to identify and manage resolution of physical security risks
  • Facilitate security related incident response (e.g. active threat)
  • Take point on physical security incidents/emergency response
  • Respond to force protection issues
  • Conduct investigations
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders providing timely advice and recommendations
  • Manage relationship with third party security vendors
  • Facilitate trainings for diverse audiences on various safety and security topics

Candidates will have:

  • 10+ years of experience in a professional law enforcement agency or department or related security experience, with a significant portion of that experience in a lead or supervisory role
  • Comprehensive nationwide contacts in security, law enforcement, and intelligence communities
  • Ability to prioritize and make business-minded, practical recommendations
  • Working knowledge of security technology including innovating and emergency technologies
  • Deep knowledge of risk management theory and application
  • Excellent communication skills a strong ability to communicate complex risk issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders from various functions within the business
  • Working knowledge of escalated mental health case response
  • International experience with strong cross cultural communication skills
  • Ability to travel / respond to emergency situations outside of standard business hours
