Job Overview

Here at EF, safety and wellbeing is our number one priority. The Director of Guidance Services will be responsible for overseeing and designing a behavioral health program to serve a wide variety of individuals, including employees, customers, external partners and other community members. As the Director of Guidance Services, you will identify organizational needs and areas of risk, then propose and execute support solutions. These solutions will aim to both proactively train and improve mental health awareness and best practices and assist in responding to emergency and crisis situations.

General responsibilities may include:

  • Assessing organizational needs related to mental health support; recommend and execute strategic and business minded solutions
  • Coordinating regular trainings with staff managers, HR team, teachers, professors, etc. on Mental Health First Aid (or similar) and escalation prevention
  • Consulting with internal Crisis Response Teams to respond to sensitive emergency situations
  • Conducting continuity consultations with customers or students - evaluating ones ability to remain on a program
  • Conducting coaching and / or debriefing sessions with staff members regarding their responsibilities in sensitive emergency situations
  • Reviewing sexual abuse awareness and prevention programming

Qualifications/experience:

  • Crisis communication and response
  • Adolescent and young adult mental health
  • Sexual abuse awareness and prevention
  • Mental Health First Aid Trainer certified (or similar)
  • Cross-cultural counseling and communication
  • Ability to travel / respond to emergency situations outside of standard office hours
