The People Operations team (what we call HR) is seeking a Director of Compensation. In this role, you will work closely with a variety of business partners to evolve and execute our compensation strategy. Main focuses include ongoing progression of our employee compensation philosophy, running point on executive compensation program design, job architecture and leveling, assurance of market competitiveness, and all variable compensation plans. This position will report into the SVP of People Operations.

The Director of Compensation will have access to a great set of tools including multiple surveys, an open Workday configuration, ongoing professional training, access to external consultants, and excellent hardware. These tools support a hands-on position that will require direct efforts to deliver on your great ideas.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs.
  • Conduct on-going analyses to ensure external market competitiveness and identification of pay gaps with resulting strategies to address.
  • Act as an advisor to the Board of Directors, CEO, and SVP, People Ops on executive compensation strategy, planning, recommendations, and execution.
  • Exhibits extensive awareness and knowledge of executive compensation conditions, including current and future trends, ongoing legislation affecting executive compensation.
  • Leads the development and coordination of Compensation Committee materials with all stakeholders.
  • Oversees the stock plan administration.
  • Conduct ad-hoc compensation analyses and research projects.
  • Assist General Counsel with the completion of the relevant investor documents, footnote disclosures and other ad-hoc reporting, and disclosure requirements.
  • Drive annual compensation planning process to ensure successful delivery and competitiveness.
  • Proactively research best practices and trends and provide thought leadership on current compensation market practices.
  • Ensure the companys compensation comply with all relevant regulations and oversee the management processes and controls to ensure ongoing compliance with those regulations.
  • Analyze cost impact and potential investments for existing and new benefits as it relates to total rewards competitiveness

Must Haves:

  • 7+ years of experience leading compensation programs, for a publicly traded company or for a multi-national company with at least 2,000 US-based employees.
  • Experience supporting California-based employees is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at the executive level through data and thoughtful storytelling.
  • Strong change management and project management skills.
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer orientation with consultative skills identifying needs and defining solutions.
  • Ability to acquaint quickly to new systems and technology.
  • Ability to flourish in a changing environment and to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Experience working with Workday is preferred but not required.
