Zoom Information is looking for a results-driven, highly motivated Data Quality Assurance Engineer who is passionate about quality assurance to join our team of outstanding professionals building the next breakthrough in B2B information services. The focus of this position will be to become an expert in testing the functionality of our various data tools, validating the accuracy of the data and understanding the impact of updating existing records in very large databases. You must be organized, detail oriented, precise and be heavily analytical. You must value teamwork and have a thirst for learning

Please note: We are only considering candidates local to the greater Boston, MA area

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with distributed Data Engineering and Product teams
• Gather test requirements, assess risk areas and convert these to test cases
• Contribute to feature testing and defect management
• Participate in smoke, regression and ad-hoc testing
• Develop a deep understanding of our data domain and testing tools
• Define test strategies, analyze test results and validate functionality
• Offer tradeoffs, quantify risks and provide mitigation strategies
• Provide documentation and training
• Work in partnership with the data engineering team to improve processes across the Software Development Life Cycle
• Contribute to general engineering practice improvement efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working in Agile environments
• Understanding of n-tier architecture and related testing strategies
• Experience working with data
• Experience writing test cases and testing software in a complex domain
• Knowledge of SQL / RDBMS

Nice to have:

• Comfortable working with Linux
• Knowledge of Java and Python
• Experience working with distributed systems such as Hadoop or Cassandra
• Experience working with Solr
• Knowledge of Spring/Hibernate
