Brief Overview:

The Copywriter, Marketing will play a critical role in the Marketing and Engagement Services department. As a Copywriter, you will roll up your sleeves to assist our small team by crafting clean, creative copy for Amwell (American Wells direct-to-patient telehealth app) and our clients (hospitals/health systems, health plans/insurers, and other strategic partners in the healthcare space). We work across multiple marketing channels with the leading hospitals and insurance companies, so youll have the opportunity to work on a variety of long-form and short-form content on a mix of health topics. Specifically, the Copywriter, Marketing will:

Core Responsibilities:

Serve as the go-to, in-house B2C/consumer copywriter for Amwell and brands/clients we work with:

  • Brainstorm copy ideas and create top-notch content for multiple channels, including emails, push notifications, blogs, website content, and paid search, paid social and display ad copy
  • Partner with Sr. Copy Editor to define, update and adhere to editorial best practices and style consistency
  • Quickly learn and adopt our voice and tone, as well as clients specific preferences
  • Juggle multiple projects with different deadlines and lead time

Assist with content planning and intake of content requests, as needed:

  • Follow up on requests as necessary to nail down key details (about goals, audience, etc.)
  • Participate in quarterly content planning meetings to support content ideation
  • Partner with internal colleagues (such as client/account managers and growth marketing managers) to understand their copy needs

Accept feedback, make necessary edits, and pay attention to detail and protocol:

  • Learn key info about the healthcare/medical space, ensuring the appropriateness and accuracy of content (for example, telehealth providers cannot prescribe certain kinds of medication, so we should not reference these in our marketing copy)
  • Receive edits and feedback from Sr. Copy Editor and client-facing colleagues, and make revisions as needed
  • Post web content in CMS and pitch in with proofreading and improving existing website copy and other marketing content

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (in English, communications or journalism, preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of experience writing a variety of copy (long-form and short/snappy)
  • Portfolio or at least 2-3 work samples demonstrating your copywriting skills and the types of content/channels youve worked on
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and/or CMS platforms and SEO
  • Agency and/or healthcare experience preferred but not required
