As part of a driven and passionate marketing team, the content marketing specialist supports WordStreams ambitious vision by creating unique and compelling content that drives traffic, engagement, brand awareness, leads, and customer success. Reporting to the Managing Editor, youll be a regular contributor to an award-winning, industry-leading blog with over 1.5 million visitors per month. This role requires a high level of creativity, flexibility, attention to detail, strong grasp of digital marketing, and time management skills.

A little about the job:

  • Blog on an ongoing basis on topics relevant to our core audience, prospects and customer base, including both industry news and evergreen how-to content, growing our audience and increasing brand awareness by delivering regular content that provides the best answer to their needs.
  • Help create content, including guides, webinars, videos and other formats, to engage leads across the funnel.
  • Collaborate with the content team to develop story ideas that align with our business goals and customer personas, then execute on those ideas.
  • Support our organic search engine presence by learning and implementing SEO best practices.
  • Help keep content across the WordStream site up-to-date and in line with brand standards.
  • Help build out the content for our Growth Academy learning initiative, including writing content and video scripts, helping cast and shoot videos, and creating quizzes and other supporting content.
  • Stay up to date with trends in content marketing and actively test new content types such as podcasts and data visualization.
  • Collaborate with the community/social media team on initiatives to promote our content and increase audience engagement.
  • Become an expert in online marketing to instill WordStreams content with trust and authority.

Requirements

A little about you:

  • BA/BS degree in marketing, writing or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a content marketing role.
  • A dual-minded approach: Youre highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions.
  • Familiarity with online marketing basics. Working knowledge of Google Ads, Facebook advertising and other online advertising platforms.
  • Experience with social media marketing.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (knowledge of Drupal a plus).
  • Experience at a software, SaaS, or B2B company is a plus.
