The Business Intelligence Analyst, will lead efforts to enhance, monitor, and manage their Teams Looker platform. They will be comfortable collaborating with business leaders to understand organizational pain points, in order to build out reports and dashboards that will provide insights for data based decision making. With technical skills to complement their analytical experience, they will solve business problems, collaborate across teams, and be passionate about data and having an impact on their Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Become subject matter expert on Indigos BI team best practices, data warehouses, tools, and resources in the Unified Data Platform
  • Use Looker and other supporting tools within BI functions (Snowflake, Get, Jira, etc.) to construct impactful dashboards to provide views for various business units
  • Provide guidance and instruction for Looker developers within the PI Platform Team
  • Augment current development processes through applying own experiences; assist in creating documentation for team
  • Serve as a guiding member of the team when onboarding new analysts

  • Strong analytical thinker with ability to decipher/determine highest priority, most impactful data outcomes
  • Passion for concise and thorough documentation
  • Ability to create and communicate findings from data-focused analyses with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Perform detailed data exploration and validation from a variety of sources
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with business teams to ensure proper data collection for robust reporting
  • Highly flexible and comfortable with ambiguity; creative
  • Understands and manipulates data in order to create useful visualizations with actionable insights
  • Understands and is excited by Indigos mission and core values

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience with data modeling, BI dashboard design, or analytics experience
    • Experience translating functional requirements into easy-to-use, flexible reporting solutions and dashboards
  • Technical requirements:
    • Advanced SQL proficiency (any dialect)
    • Extensive experience with data modeling and warehouse architecture
    • Experience using Looker or other visualization tool (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau, Google Studio) to build reports and dashboards
    • Experience with Salesforce / Einstein Analytics, Python, R, Excel, or javascript (D3.js)
  • Individual contributor with experience leading projects or as a project lead
  • Broad industry experience preferred (data science, tech, life sciences, etc.)
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, growth environment
  • Bachelors degree, required

From the early days when the whole company consisted of less than 20 people, I remember EVERYONE would gather for lively brainstorming sessions, the founder of the company, bench scientists, data scientists, lab techs, an attorney - everyone participated and listened and learned from each other's experiences and opinions. Today Indigo is much larger, but this spirit of open communication and collaboration is still strong. We collaborate through our everyday work, through software like our online innovation exchange where we bounce ideas off each other, and through "hands-on" brainstorming sessions where we learn a new assay and some of the points which are most challenging and can share ideas about how to make it more efficient.
