EFs Central Brand team is searching for a new freelance copywriter to produce high-quality copy for a variety of brand content projects and activities. This person will be responsible for crafting copy that aligns with our brand tone of voice, shines a light on our core brand messages, engages people with EF Education First and inspires action. Some of the channels youll write for are:

You should be a highly skilled, clever writer who is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, upholds journalistic standards, and is able to move fluidly from an Instagram story to a brochure. Your copy should inspire, excite and motivate people to connect with EF. Youll be expected to collaborate effectively with members of the EF brand team as well as other stakeholders across the business (and around the world).

The person who fills this role can work remotely but will ideally be able and willing to come into EFs Boston office as needed.

Responsibilities include but arent limited to:

  • Writing copy for our central brand blog, social media channels, print materials and other projects as needed
  • Editing, proofreading, updating, adapting and/or improving existing copy across brand channels
  • Coordinating and conducting interviews for blog content stories
  • Conducting research for blog content stories
  • Uploading and formatting copy in our content management system

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a copywriter (ideally for an agency, brand or media outlet) across a wide range of channels (blog, site, social media, print, etc.)
  • Outstanding writing skills and the ability to adapt to a brand tone of voice (your wordsmithing abilities should have a wow-factor)
  • Expert-level spelling, grammar and proofreading skills (no exceptions!)
  • Excellent research and fact-checking skills
  • Proven experience creating copy with mass appeal that inspires action
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Excellent organizational and time management skillsproven ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Bachelors degree in Journalism, English, Communications or a related field of study

Ideal candidates will:

  • Understand what type of copy gets traction and engages people on a wide variety of online and offline channels
  • Be creative thinkers, as well as highly detail-oriented and motivated
  • Be driven, professional and inspired to create copy that connects back to EFs mission: opening the world through education
  • Be in the know on the latest copy trends across social media channels
  • Have an enthusiastic attitude and a sense of humor

Bonus points if you:

  • Have an understanding of SEO practices
  • Are familiar with content management systems (i.e. Wordpress)
  • Have participated in educational travel, language learning and/or cultural exchange programs

Please include 3-5 writing samples that show copy you have produced across a range of channels. Candidates who do not submit writing samples will not be considered for this role.
