Associate Epidemiologist

We help optimize clinical research and enable discoveries through the creation of Real World Evidence (RWE). TriNetX combines real-time access to longitudinal clinical and genomic data with state-of-the-art analytics to answer complex research questions at the speed of thought.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the TriNetX platform and access to de-identified/anonymized electronic medical record (EMR) data to perform epidemiological and statistical analyses
  • Assists with the production of statistical and epidemiological reports, including tables, charts, slides, maps and other descriptive formats for publication or professional presentation
  • Supports Clinical Sciences staff and other teams across the company on project evaluation, data analysis for reports, presentations and data requests as necessary
  • Assembles and disseminates results of investigations, special studies, routine surveillance, and analyses of health outcome data
  • Contributes to the sales process of the TriNetX research network on both the data provider and sponsor sides of the platform
  • Assists with the implementation and publication of results from epidemiologic/RWE study protocols in topics of interest to establish TriNetX as the method of choice in EMR based research
  • Supports database quality processes by producing data-quality reports for project or policy development, as necessary
  • Provides feedback, guidance and training to external users of the TriNetX platform
  • Assures data quality, integrity and confidentiality of information
  • The position is based in Cambridge, MA with some telecommuting as a potential option
  • Travel component is approximately 5-20%

Required Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or closely related field. Candidates with a BA/BS with equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered
  • Solid understanding of epidemiological concepts, quantitative methodologies, clinical trials design, patient eligibility criteria, clinical trial execution, RWE evaluations, chart review studies
  • Established ability to interpret and report analytical information in a clear concise manner with excellent communication skills on verbal, written and presentation levels
  • Experience analyzing EMR and public health data using R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Stata and/or Epi Info required
  • Knowledge of the US healthcare system and its changing needs for health data
  • Solid understanding of descriptive statistics, multivariate regression, logistic regression, and various survival (OS, PFS, DFS) analyses
  • Interprets and communicates analytical information in a clear concise manner
  • Excellent organizational, oral and writing skills required
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and to consistently meet deadlines, often multiple ones
  • Self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a diverse team
  • Highly analytical and enjoys solving mysteries
  • Demonstrates time management, organization of workload, delegation, analytical decision-making skills, attention to detail and thoroughness
