Wayfairs Operations Product team is looking for an experienced Associate Director, Technical Product Management to lead development and delivery of the Supply Chain Optimization technology platforms. In this role, you will partner with business owners, product managers, technologists, engineers, data scientists, the operations research team, and other stakeholders to understand the Wayfair Operations organization's strategic goals and identify gaps in current product capabilities. You will strive to define product design and functional requirements/capabilities with a particular focus on implementation to execute on these through delivery.

The Supply Chain Optimization platforms are core to Wayfairs availability, replenishment, demand management, and fulfillment strategies. As the Global Product Owner for this platform, you will drive optimal balance of marketable speed, supply chain costs and availability as you develop a scalable, performant global product platform to power replenishment and inventory positioning at ever-increasing scale. You will partner with Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, and other Product teams to design a product architecture and build a product vision, strategy, and roadmap that shortens time to value across several availability and supply chain experience initiatives.

What Youll Do:

  • Transform initiative requirements into actionable items on our product roadmap while serving as an internal subject matter expert on a strategic Wayfair operations solution
  • Motivate your team to translate the vision of the operational departments into robust, intuitive systems
  • Build strong team culture through coaching and knowledge transfer to develop top talent for the Product Managers on your direct reporting line
  • Translate the needs of priority initiatives into a technical approach, motivated by implementation focused details, in the form of specifications towards peers in engineering/data science/operations research
  • Utilize data to break down the scope, impact and priority of our business goals and enable the team to transform that knowledge into system enhancements and new features
  • Provide a technical framework for stakeholder and engineering communication based on metrics, KPIs and business goals
  • Proactively communicate opportunities presented by our current product capabilities through metrics and measurements
  • Serve as a technical partner to engineering stakeholders to further enhance our platform and drive design conversations to address global needs
  • Monitor performance and measure the impact of product enhancements to communicate performance metrics to key stakeholders throughout the organization

What Youll Need:

  • 6+ years Product Management/technological consultancy experience working with operational systems
  • 2+ years of experience successfully leading and growing highly effective teams both in terms of impact and team culture
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights and understanding of procedural and algorithmic implementation
  • Passionate about building functional and engaging user experiences
  • Strongly collaborative and effective in a cross-functional environment; comfortable interfacing with senior level leadership
  • Superb interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to navigate a complex organization and generate buy-in for ideas and plans
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities through ambiguity, adversity and conflict in order to establish focus and deliver against business goals
  • Proficiency in SQL or other relational database query languages
  • Bachelors degree in a technical, business, or supply chain/operations discipline, MBA a plus
