Indigo Carbon enables growers to generate carbon credits by transitioning to farming practices that sequester carbon in the soil. The Associate Manager will drive projects that enhance our understanding of how growers are managing their farms by improving how the Field Data Solutions team captures, analyzes, and verifies on-farm management practice data at scale. This is critical to generating the volume of carbon credits needed to make a meaningful impact on climate change. A good candidate will need to be able to continuously improve processes and operations, evaluate technologies to streamline data collection, work cross-functionally to make things happen, and build compelling slides to align with the rest of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the full program scope of capturing data from growers about their farming practices and how it fits into the broader Carbon program
  • Develop processes, tools, and training materials to ensure effective and articulate communication for the Field Data Solutions team and operations across the Data Collection Specialist team, Field Operation Specialist team, Carbon Operations team, Product team, and other teams as necessary
  • Manage the relationship between the Field Data Solutions team, Carbon teams, Agronomy team, and other relevant teams
  • Assist in the plan to understand how Carbon growers management practice information will be collected in year 0 to ensure success by testing, refining, communicating plans, and iterating to improve processes
  • Collaborate with Carbon Operations team to develop communication methods to inform growers about carbon information requirements
  • Manage a portion of the collaborative efforts between the Field Data Solutions team and the Carbon team and begin to enable improvements
  • Evaluate technologies to streamline data collection from growers and drive improvements as well as innovation
  • Identify and enable ways to make the Carbon program run better in 2020 and 2021, continuously looking for opportunities to improve the Carbon program and developing a vision towards future operations

  • Develop a small team of data collection specialists to support the collection of complete, high quality management practice data for Carbon program
  • Problem-solve to identify any issues in real time and enable quick resolution
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
    • Can conduct strong phone interviews
    • Excellent presentation delivery and strong attention to detail
    • Build excellent rapport across key stakeholders and teams
    • Excellent, executive-level verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to quickly earn high levels of confidence from partners, stakeholders, and other teams as the leader of the bedrock team of the broader Carbon program
  • Highly adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of the organization, with a demonstrated ability to deliver under pressure
  • Ability to advance concepts from early-stages proposals through execution
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with an insatiable interest in cutting-edge technologies and creating a more beneficial agricultural system
  • Demonstrates empathy with all internal and external stakeholders (E.g., growers, to Innovation Team Leadership, to internal collaborators, companies, and KOLs)
  • Understands and embodies Indigos purpose and core values

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with 3.5+ GPA
  • Undergraduate degree with GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • 4-8 years relevant work experience
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment and dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience operating in a data driven environment to track and improve business operations
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data from dashboards data
  • Ag and food background, or some knowledge of farming practices a plus
  • Experience enabling a new program or new way of working
  • Experience in Salesforce a plus
  • Willingness to travel, including potential international, as needed
