That is why we offer internship and co-op programs where students have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals on some of our most pivotal projects. Symbotic offers an extensive calendar of events including lunch and learns, social outings, and volunteer opportunities for our interns and co-ops to engage in.

The summer intern session is a 12-week, full-time (40 hours Monday-Friday) program while the co-op cohorts typically run 16-weeks in the Spring and Fall. In both programs, students are paid a competitive hourly rate. Continue reading to learn more about this exciting opportunity!

What we need

Join us as a Supply Chain Intern to support the Supply Chain team in ensuring the smooth transition of goods through the entire supply chain process. Key areas of focus for this team are inventory control and management, demand planning, and logistics.

You’ll be a part of our global sourcing, procurement and third-party supplier team developing innovative category management strategies in collaboration with the business. The team focuses on strategic third-party partner agreements and helps support supplier relationship management, commercial and financial pricing models for overall supplier performance.

What you’ll do

  • Review purchasing and operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings, including supplier consolidation, system optimization, and workflow efficiency.

  • Leverage ERP system to support data aggregation, product lifecycle management, and purchasing visibility across teams.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including planning, engineering, receiving, and accounting to resolve purchasing or system-related issues.

  • Support the creation of tools and analytics for executive reporting, monitor KPIs, and contribute to process improvements that enhance operational performance and supply chain efficiency.

  • Analyzing supply chain workflows to eliminate waste, reduce lead time, and improve reliability.

  • Standardizing work instructions or process documentation across sites.

  • Designing visual management tools or dashboards for real-time visibility.

  • Coordinating timelines and deliverables for system implementations or process rollouts.

  • Supporting cross-functional communication between planning, logistics, and sourcing teams.

What you’ll need

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial or applied engineering, operations management, or a related field.

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

  • Proficiency in Excel.
