Position: AI Research Scientists
Job Duties: 1. Interface with customers to understand their data requirements and business goals; 2. Lead efforts in developing automated pipelines to gather, clean and preprocess large datasets from diverse sources, ensuring data quality and integrity through rigorous validation techniques; 3. Design, develop, fine-tune and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms tailored to solve specific e-commerce search challenges for various customers; 4. Continuously refine and optimize these modules by experimenting with different techniques and incorporating state-of-the-art methodologies to deliver superior performance; 5. Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to build predictive models and perform advanced statistical analyses, applying machine learning techniques and statistics to improve existing algorithms, enhance model accuracy and optimize business outcomes; 6. Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal analysis tools, and develop innovative solutions to enhance data science capabilities; 7. Stay updated on AI advancements, document methodologies, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, providing actionable insights and ensuring alignment with customer goals; and 8. Gather information on business goals and use custom or existing data infrastructure to design and evaluate models that solve defined problems. One day of telecommuting per week is permitted. The employee must work from the employer’s headquarters in Boston, MA four days per week.
Requirements: Employer requires a PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field. In addition, the employer requires the following: 1. Demonstrated ability working with advanced programming languages such as Python gained through four (4) years of work experience or gained through completion of a doctoral level thesis in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field; 2. Demonstrated understanding of data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) gained through four (4) years of work experience or gained through completion of a doctoral level thesis in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field; 3. Demonstrated ability developing complete software packages from scratch with regular iteration and improvements gained through four (4) years of work experience or gained through completion of a doctoral level thesis in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field; 4. Demonstrated understanding of the statistical and mathematical basis of machine learning algorithms gained through four (4) years of work experience or gained through completion of a doctoral level thesis in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field; and 5. Demonstrated understanding of applied numerical methods for optimization or simulation gained through four (4) years of work experience or gained through completion of a doctoral level thesis in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field. All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
