Chief Executive Officer
Austin is the chief innovator and driving force behind Datto. When Austin founded Datto in 2007 his goal was to create the best backup and disaster recovery (BDR) and business continuity (BC) solution available; he succeeded. Concurrently, he has led Datto to incredible growth.
Datto has made the coveted Inc. 500 for three consecutive years, in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The company has also received numerous industry awards, for company growth, product excellence and technical support.
More than the accolades, Austin is proud to have created a unique culture at Datto; to always look ahead, exceed expectations, and keep Datto Partners at the forefront of everything we do.
Austin is major shareholder at Datto. He has a degree in Bioinformatics from Rochester Institute of Technology, and holds several patents. In 2014 he was named a Finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, as well as named a CRN Top 25 Innovator and a CRN Top 50 Midmarket IT Vendor Executive. Austin sits on the Board of the Connecticut Technology Council.
Michael is responsible for managing Datto’s legal affairs, including data security and privacy compliance, management of Datto’s intellectual property portfolio and advising the company’s management and board of directors on legal, strategic and corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining Datto, Michael held senior legal positions at Toluna, a leading online market research technology and data collection provider, as well as MicroWarehouse, which, prior to its sale, was a leading technology reseller.
Michael received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. with honors in Political Science from the University of Vermont.
Chief Technology Officer
Robert is responsible for managing Datto’s development and infrastructure initiatives in support of its comprehensive data backup and protection platform.
Prior to Datto, Robert spent 15 years as a software engineer and CTO leading teams of developers building high-uptime enterprise applications for Fortune 500 clients, including building one of the highest trafficked web advertising distribution networks and an enterprise digital asset management system deployed to thousands of end-users.
Robert holds a B.S. in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University, a J.D. from Fordham University, and an M.S. in Computer Science from New York University.
Chief Revenue Officer
As Datto’s Chief Revenue Officer, Brooks leads Datto’s global revenue pursuits encompassing the sales, marketing and business development teams. Brooks joins Datto with a track record of success spanning more than 25 years in the IT services industry with leading firms such as Accenture, Avaya, Cisco and NaviSite. His background includes extensive international experience as well as leadership of a successful cloud computing managed services provider. Brooks holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech and is renowned for his excessive dry wit, knowledge of music from the 1980’s and overstated juggling skills.
Andrew is Managing Director of Datto’s EMEA business and brings over a decade of experience in the IT industry. Andrew was instrumental in Datto’s expansion into EMEA and has a unique background, as he has worked both on the vendor side and as a Managed Services Provider.
Prior to Datto, Andrew was Managing Director for both Clark Integrated Technologies and most recently, Paradeon Technologies, which he founded to distribute emerging technologies like Datto to the UK channel.
Andrew is based in the European headquarters in Reading, Berkshire, UK.
VP, Global Sales
Bryan oversees the global Datto sales teams. He brings over 15 years of sales leadership experience within IT infrastructure, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery and cloud services where he was strategically aligned with Channel Partners. Prior to Datto, Bryan was Vice President of Sales with Sungard Availability Services, where he worked for nine years.
Bryan holds a B.A. from Ohio University.
Chief Marketing Officer
Pete leads all marketing efforts for Datto, driving brand awareness, growing our global partner network and generating demand for the Datto product line. Pete’s 20+ year career spans infrastructure, virtualization, security and content management in both US and EMEA. Pete’s prior positions include CMO of AppSense, a user virtualization company where he helped define an industry category and expand the marketing function into multiple countries.
VP, Customer Experience
Emily is Datto’s Customer Experience Officer, overseeing Technical Support, Training, Build, Shipping, and Logistics. Previously, Emily served as Datto’s VP of Customer Experience, where she spearheaded the creation of an award-winning partner experience. Datto’s channel-only approach places a high value on partner satisfaction and Emily’s team is dedicated to building and supporting exceptional partner relationships and businesses. From product assembly to support in the field, her team proactively cultivates new ways to assure each Datto partner has an amazing experience throughout the course of their relationship with Datto.
Prior to Datto, Emily held senior leadership positions at Backupify, Brightcove, and Akamai where she spent time product managing, designing, marketing, and supporting usable products.
Mary Kay Caricato
Chief People Officer
Mary Kay is Datto’s Chief People Officer, overseeing human resources at Datto on a global scale. In her role, Mary Kay spearhead initiatives to further build a culture that engages and inspires employees including talent development, capability building, and compensation and benefits programs. As Datto continues to rapidly grow across different geographies, Mary Kay ensures that employees everywhere share Datto’s vision to develop an industry-leading team while maintaining Datto’s core values.
Previously, Mary Kay served as the Chief Human Resources Officer of Integramed Fertility, the largest network of fertility practices across North America. She also worked for Diageo for more than a decade in senior level HR roles. Mary Kay holds a Master’s in Education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
Chief Information Officer
Loïc serves as Datto’s Chief Information Officer. As CIO, his team leads the charge in assuring that Datto’s internal systems are enabling the company’s fast-paced growth. His team equips employees with scalable solutions to enable Datto’s global expansion.
Loïc has deep roots in successful technology leadership, with over twenty years of experience leading global organizations through digital transformations. Prior to Datto, Loïc held senior leadership positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Pitney Bowes, and Weight Watchers.
Loïc graduated from London’s Middlesex University Business School and Université de Nantes.
Chief Information Security Officer
Ryan is responsible for directing and managing Datto's Information Security program. He spent 11 years securing enterprise applications, systems and sensitive customer financial data at FactSet Research Systems, the last four of those years spent orchestrating all facets of the global information security program. Ryan holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Ithaca College, a M.S. in Information Assurance from Northeastern University and active industry security certifications including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
VP, Corporate Controller
Don is Datto's Corporate Controller and is responsible for Datto's global accounting and tax operations. Prior to Datto, Don served as Chief Financial Officer of Jupitermedia, a Nasdaq company, where he also served as Controller after having held various accounting staff and management positions with the firm. Prior to his tenure at Jupitermedia, Don was a senior auditor with Arthur Andersen LLP
VP, Business Development
As Vice President of Business Development, Rob Rae is instrumental in developing Datto’s Managed Service Provider ecosystem and building Datto’s partner led go-to-market strategy. In his role, Rob oversees many different aspects of Datto’s partner programs including Community, Events, Marketing Development Funds, Vendor Management and the Partner Advisory Board, all with the goal of helping our partners grow.
With over 25 years of sales and B2B activities, Rob has extensive experience in IT hardware, software and services sales. All of Rob’s industry experience has been working with 100% channel focused organizations and working directly with Channel VAR’s, Solution Providers and Managed Service Providers in achieving their goals. Prior to working with Datto, Rob built successful sales and channel teams in a variety of industries including Level Platforms (acquired by AVG) and Compaq (acquired by HP).
Rob has received extensive awards and recognition within the channel including being Datto’s CRN Channel Chief every year since joining Datto. Rob has also been recognized on many industry top executive, influencer and mid-market executive lists. Rob also sits on a number of industry advisory boards, including a Chair of CompTIA’s Vendor Advisory Council, and xChange Vendor Advisory Board.
VP, Corporate Development
Jon oversees all of Datto's merger & acquisitions (M&A) and capital markets activities. He brings 10+ years of capital markets and investing experience covering control M&A, venture and mezzanine investing. Prior to Datto, Jon was an investment professional with Cyprium Partners (formerly Key Principal Partners) and an analyst with Wasatch Venture Fund.
Ian is responsible for overseeing the company’s global product strategy and driving user experience. He plays a critical role in continuing the company’s path of innovation and commitment to keep critical business technology running. Ian has spent the majority of his career in the IT channel with contributions to organizations such as CompTIA, HTG, and the ASCII group
VP, Datto Networking
John serves as Vice President of Datto Networking. In his role, John leads Datto’s Managed Networking Services business on a global scale. Having worked as both a managed services provider and for vendor firms, John has deep roots in the IT Channel and a vast understanding of the needs and challenges faced by today’s managed services providers.
Tippett is also an active member in the Computing Technology Industry Association, where he currently serves as ex-officio chair of the Managed Services Community and serves as a member of the Ambassador Program. He was awarded as the inaugural CompTIA Member of the Year in 2016, which recognizes a single member each year who demonstrates outstanding service to the organization and the IT industry.
Prior to Datto, John was Vice President and General Manager of Aisle8 where he focused on the distinct product and distribution needs of IT solution providers.
