Chief Executive Officer
Tim Weller is Chief Executive Officer of Datto. He provides strategic leadership, sets the vision and establishes long-range goals for the company. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Tim served in various C-level positions at Datto including President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer, where he ran day-to-day operations and established global go-to-market strategies. Tim brings extensive executive leadership experience with technology-based companies to Datto. Prior to joining, Tim served as the Interim CEO and CFO of London-based financial technology company Wonga. He was also CFO of two Boston-based public companies, EnerNoc, a clean energy technology company, and Akamai, where he led a team that completed one of the top-performing initial public offerings of all time.
Early in his career, Tim was an equity research analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. In addition to his many leadership roles, Tim has also been a software developer, video game designer, angel investor, and advisor to many technology company CEOs.
Tim holds a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University.
Austin McChord founded Datto in 2007 as a college student and served as the CEO of the company for more than ten years. Early on, Austin recognized that the exponential growth of data posed an opportunity to create the most effective business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) solution available outside the enterprise.
With a decidedly “all-in” commitment to MSP selling partners, Austin grew Datto to a global company with more than 14,000 MSP partners through organic innovation and strategic acquisitions. He added managed networking, cloud backup, business management tools, file sync and share, and file backup to Datto’s portfolio, creating an entire ecosystem for a devoted MSP community.
Austin’s life work includes creating a one-of-a-kind culture at Datto. With 32 offices around the globe, Datto has earned hundreds of awards for growth, outstanding workplace, product excellence and technical support. Teams are guided with Datto imperatives that pour over into every single partner interaction including to always “do what’s right for the customer” and to design products with an eye on providing the ultimate user experience.
Austin is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, was was named to Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30, and earned recognition as one of the nation's top 50 philanthropists in 2017 by The Chronicle of Philanthropy. He is a mentor to young entrepreneurs and has spoken around the world on topics such as net neutrality and how tech is transforming business and society across America. He holds several patents and has a degree in Bioinformatics from Rochester Institute of Technology, where he is also a trustee.
Austin is a major investor and serves on the Datto Board of Directors, where he continues to be the driving force behind Datto and its impact on the industry.
General Counsel & Chief People Officer
Michael is responsible for managing Datto’s legal affairs, including data security and privacy compliance, management of Datto’s intellectual property portfolio and advising the company’s management and board of directors on legal, strategic and corporate governance matters. As Chief People Officer, Michael also oversees human resources at Datto globally, spearheading initiatives to further build a culture that engages and inspires employees including talent development, capability building, and compensation and benefits programs. Prior to joining Datto, Michael held senior legal positions at Toluna, a leading online market research technology and data collection provider, as well as MicroWarehouse, which, prior to its sale, was a leading technology reseller. Michael received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. with honors in Political Science from the University of Vermont.
Chief Product Officer
Emily is Datto’s Chief Product Officer (CPO), overseeing Datto’s Product Management and Scrum teams. Datto’s channel-only approach places a high value on partner satisfaction and Emily’s team is focused on building the most innovative, MSP-centric solutions in the channel, a focus that she drives in her role as CPO.
Previously, Emily built and led the award-winning Customer Experience team at Datto, comprised of Technical Support, Services, Training, and Success. Prior to joining Datto, Emily held senior leadership positions at Backupify, Brightcove, and Akamai, where she gained expertise in product managing, designing, marketing, and supporting usable products. Emily received her Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Engineering from McGill University, and her Masters in Art Education from Boston University.
Customer Experience Officer
As Customer Experience Officer (CXO), Chris McCloskey is responsible for leading Datto’s technical support, customer experience, implementation, and customer success teams around the globe in providing award-winning service to Datto’s global partner base.
Prior to joining Datto, Chris served as Chief Operating Officer, Americas at London-based financial company Finastra, and served there in numerous roles, including Chief Operating Officer of Americas, Global Head of Solutions and Field Operations, and Global Head of Sales Operations. Chris has also held positions at IBM, General Electric, and Vista Equity Partners throughout his career.
Chris holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Gettysburg College.
Nathaniel is Senior Vice President of Finance at Datto, overseeing the company’s financial planning, accounting, sourcing, tax and treasury functions. As SVP of Finance, Nathaniel and his team strive to equip Datto with accurate, timely, and actionable information to drive better financial outcomes.
Nathaniel brings over 10 years of experience leading finance organizations in both publicly traded and privately held businesses. Prior to Datto, Nathaniel was VP of Corporate Finance at Boston-based EnerNOC (NASDAQ: ENOC), a clean energy technology company. Earlier in his career, Nathaniel trained in trading equity options on the Chicago Board of Options Exchange.
Nathaniel holds a BBA from Emory University, an MBA from Boston University, and an MS in Information Systems from Boston University.
As Datto’s Senior Vice President of Engineering, Adam is responsible for managing engineering and product groups within Datto, including product development, product management, quality assurance, documentation, and data center operations for the Autotask PSA, Datto RMM, Endpoint Backup, and Workplace product lines. Since the start of his career, Adam has managed numerous service and product teams for rapidly growing startup companies, and has been instrumental in taking each of these companies to successful exits. Adam holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's corporate headquarters are located right in Downtown Boston. We had a chance to see how their employees "stay curious," as per the statement which is proudly displayed in their office.
BHE has grown substantially over the past several years and has moved into a new office in Boston's Financial District to accommodate its rapid expansion. The company's new offices are modern in every sense of the word, featuring the usual open and collaborative spaces and state-of-the-art meeting rooms.
Privy recently moved into new offices near South Station and we had a chance to take a look inside. During our visit, we certainly witness a very team-oriented atmosphere. Don't miss the in-house video studio and the employee photo wall!
Facebook Boston's growth is continuing. This year, the company unveiled its brand new 130,000 square foot office located at 100 Binney Street in Cambridge. Facebook Boston currently has 200 employees working out of this location and there's plenty of room for growth, as the space is built to hold 600 people.
PatientPing moved into their new office in downtown Boston last November. The office is bright and sunny with plenty of spaces for collaboration. Their personalities and brand colors are represented with team photos and pops of coral and blue throughout the office.
Lose It!'s headquarters are located near the Boston Common. One cool idea that stands out is how they move employees' desks every three months, so you get to know everyone better. The offices also feature a ski lodge-styled quiet room.
Formlabs' Somerville offices feature many of their products and favorite prints on display...with some of them being made by employees themselves (a perk of working there!).
Numerated features an open office and catered lunches to keep their Numerators (what they call their employees) working together and happy.
O'Reilly Media's beautiful red and white offices feature a game room designed for their weekly ping pong tournaments.
Akumina's offices are located in downtown Nashua, New Hampshire and during our tour, we saw plenty of Akuminites (what the company calls their employees) in action.
BitSight's new offices are in the R2-D2 building at 111 Huntington Ave. The company has an incredible-looking space and catered lunches for their team members.
TimeTrade has a beautiful industrial-designed office and rooms for employee Game Nights. Also, their conference room names are music-oriented.
CyberArk's offices in Newton feature a completely renovated, not to mention nice-looking, lobby. The offices house employees working hard in the meeting rooms as well as a few getting competitive with foosball.
DraftKings occupies 105,000 square feet of space, which is the largest single-floor office plan in Boston. From the breathtaking entrance... to sports-themed huddle spaces... to meeting spaces named after famous sports athletes and tech entrepreneurs... to the DK café which mimics a football field... there is so much to see!
PathAI moved from Cambridge to Boston and their offices give employees plenty of room to collaborate... and play a few rounds of Super Smash Bros.
Aside from giving their employees a great view of the Back Bay, OM1 has a sharp, blue-colored office with tons of open space and huddle rooms.
Buildium has been expanding aggressively and to facilitate this growth, the company moved into a new office at 3 Center Plaza.
Located not too far from the Downtown Crossing T stop is Panorama Education's offices which feature meeting rooms named after school subjects and a wall featuring the "Pets of Panorama."
Tamr's offices are located in Cambridge and it gives its employees great views of Harvard Square.

Desktop Metal's Burlington offices feature their 3D printing machines in action in a collaborative office.
