Founder & CEO, Brandwatch
Giles Palmer is the founder and CEO of Brandwatch, a leading social intelligence firm. He started Brandwatch after leaving BSkyB in late 2005. Since its launch in August 2007, Brandwatch has grown to become one of the world’s leading social listening and analytics tech companies, empowering some of the world’s biggest brands and agencies across the globe. Giles lead the merger with Crimson Hexagon in October 2018 to create a $100m revenue SAAS business
His goal for the company is to help organizations find and understand actionable insights from social data and share the right insights with the right people throughout the enterprise.
Giles has a Physics degree from Durham University and is a Chartered Accountant. He is based in Brighton, UK.
Chris is the CTO of Brandwatch, where he leads the worldwide technology teams responsible for product development, research, and support. Chris brings leadership experience in management, software architecture, and development to the company. He is an expert in high-scalability systems and text analytics and is named on several U.S. patents.
Prior to Brandwatch, Chris was the founding CTO of Crimson Hexagon, where he built the product and team from scratch to be a leader in social data analytics. He led the strategic design and development of enterprise-class technology products at a number of global software companies including Apple, Disney, and Netscape. Chris has also contributed to the success of several high-growth companies in the Boston technology ecosystem, including Fairmarket, Coalesix, Icosystem and Jana.
He holds a B.A. in computer science from Dartmouth College. Chris is an avid cyclist and musician. He lives in Cambridge with his wife and two children.
Chief Product Officer, Brandwatch
Rebecca has been working in data analytics for over 10 years, and is now serving as the Chief Product Officer for Brandwatch. Rebecca joined Brandwatch in 2012, and over the next 4 years built the Strategy and Insights team, a group that provides industry leading innovative research and consulting services for Brandwatch clients. Prior to Brandwatch she worked as a Senior Analyst and consultant for NM Incite, a Nielsen-McKinsey company.
Rebecca earned a Bachelors degree in Human Geography at the University of Southampton, specializing her degree towards population science and urban social geographies. She cares passionately about advocating for women in leadership and in technology, and volunteers as a mentor and speaker within professional networks as well as a local charity for mentoring young women.
General Counsel, Brandwatch
Dylan is Brandwatch’s General Counsel, leading the global legal function. Prior to Brandwatch, Dylan was the Legal Director for Groupon’s Northern Europe region and a strategic adviser with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Dylan earned his BA from Occidental College, his JD from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, and his LLM from University College London. In his spare time, Dylan likes to [speak in the third person,] read, eat, travel, and drink coffee.
VP of Strategy & Corporate Development and GM, BuzzSumo
Hind is VP of Strategy & Corporate Development and GM of BuzzSumo. She is responsible for the group’s diversification strategy and M&A. In parallel, she has joined BuzzSumo after its acquisition in 2017 as a General Manager. Before Brandwatch, she worked at Dassault Systemes, a leader in the software industry as a Strategy Analyst. During her years at Dassault Systemes, Hind contributed and led different strategic initiatives for new products development as well as M&A.
Hind holds a master’s in engineering with a major in signal processing from Ecole Télécom Physique Strasbourg, a master’s of science in computer vision from the University of Strasbourg and a master’s degree in management and innovation from University Paris Dauphine and Mines Paris-Tech (France).
Integration Lead, Brandwatch
Dan is serving as Brandwatch’s Integration Lead, to ensure that the company’s post-merger business leverages the best of Brandwatch and Crimson Hexagon. Prior to the merger, from May 2018 until October 2018, Dan led Crimson Hexagon’s finance team as SVP and CFO. Previously Dan served from 2014 until 2018 as CFO at Onshape, the world’s first cloud-architected CAD software company.
Before Onshape, Dan worked at Harvard University where he was CFO from 2008 until 2014. Previously, Dan was a consultant at McKinsey & Company and a corporate attorney at Nutter, McClennen & Fish.
Dan earned his AB from Duke University, his JD from the University of Pennsylvania, and his MBA from the University of Virginia.
Michael is VP Vizia, Brandwatch’s leading data visualisation platform, with responsibility for the overall strategy and performance of the product.
The Vizia team are on a mission to change how information is socialised within organisations putting insight more effectively to work.
After completing a degree at the world-class London School of Economics, Michael pursued a career working for a high growth software company in London. After working for a boutique search company, helping startups in Mobile scale in Europe, he joined Brandwatch 6 years ago. His initial role was spent selling to strategic Enterprises helping them to the impact that social intelligence could have on their business, before becoming VP Partnerships EMEA and now leading the Vizia business.
Katja is Chief Design Officer. She is one of the founding Brandwatch team, joining in 2005. She spent the early years working on the first app designs and establishing the Brandwatch brand then as the company grew, building design teams to deliver on the commercial and product design goals. Prior to Brandwatch she was a Design and Branding consultant and before that headed up a design team for Extreme Freesports Agency, SSM, seeing them through from early startup to acquisition (Sportsworld Media Group plc.).
Katja is passionate about making design core to the business, using it to differentiate and build a culture conducive to innovation. She sits on two external boards, Brighton Innovation Board and Brighton Digital Festival Board.
Katja has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design from Newcastle at Northumbria University. She lives in the Sussex countryside with her partner and two children.
Will is CMO of social intelligence platform Brandwatch. His passion is social data and how it can shape industries, policies, research and innovation. He is a board member of the Big Boulder Initiative, whose mission is to establish the foundation for the long-term success of the social data industry. He is also on the advisory board for Social Media Week New York.
Previously, Will co-founded and ran NixonMcInnes, a consultancy which pioneered in early social media marketing and went on to change how more than 30 major corporations, charities and governmental departments behave, particularly in response to social and digital.
He authored Culture Shock, a 21st century handbook for business with an average review of 4.5 stars on Amazon and was a TEDx speaker in 2011.
In very early days of social media marketing, Will founded and ran a group called MeasurementCamp which assembled and met monthly with the earliest practitioners in social media measurement in London, many of whom have gone on to do great things globally.
David is Chief Finance Officer at Brandwatch. David joined Brandwatch in 2017 and has had a busy two years re-focusing and re-energising the Operations, Finance and People functions at the organization. David executed two key m&a’s during this time; the Buzzsumo acquisition and the Brandwatch and Crimson Hexagon merger most recently in October 2018.
Prior to joining Brandwatch David spent five years at Jefferies, leading the European media and internet equity research team who worked with disruptive digital companies such as ASOS, Just Eat and Zoopla.
In his earlier life David spent 5 years as a Royal Marine Officer serving in South America, Africa and the Middle East. After leaving the Royal Marines, David joined KPMG and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He spent 4 years with KMPG, before joining JPMorgan’s European technology equity research team.
In 2005 David spent some time travelling South America, Africa and Australasia. During this time he worked as a dive instructor, took on numerous charitable projects, completed a PGCE Mathematics, started teaching and was appointed Head of Sixth at St Bede’s School.
David is on the Board of Dragons Rugby, indulging in a huge passion of his. David lives in Brighton with his wife and three daughters.
Pat leads the Global Customer Success team at Brandwatch. Pat and his team are responsible for delivering the quality, consistency and exceptional experience that our customers have come to expect from Brandwatch. Pat leads our Customer Success Management, Professional Services & Research Services practices across our ever-expanding geos.
Pat has been involved in tech for over 20 years. Prior to Brandwatch, Pat served as VP Customer Success EMEA at Bazaarvoice with time at Taleo (Oracle), Vurv Technology and intellesys prior to that. Pat has been living the customer success function from its inception and is obsessive about ensuring our customers have vocal champions inside Brandwatch.
Pat earned his Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin and postgraduate from the UCD Smurfit School of Business. He is also a qualified Crucial Accountability and Crucial Conversations master trainer. Pat is a huge golf and running fan and lives outside Brighton with his wife, daughter and son.
Chief People Officer
Jeannine has over 15 years in the HR field and serves as Crimson Hexagon’s Chief People Officer. She is responsible for the company’s people strategy and provides oversight for all HR operations. She is skilled in bringing organizations through various stages of growth and change by helping employees connect their individual contributions to the larger impact they make on successful business outcomes.
Prior to joining Crimson Hexagon, Jeannine served in HR management positions at LoJack Corporation, Dunkin’ Brands and also at Digitas LBi. Jeannine earned a Bachelor of Science from Emmanuel College and her Executive Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Cornell University.
