President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Emad Rizk joined Cotiviti in August of 2016 as Chief Executive Officer. A seasoned and renowned healthcare industry senior executive, Dr. Rizk brings to this role more than 25 years of experience working closely with payers, providers, and government entities. Most recently, he served as CEO at Accretive Health; he was also a member of its Board of Directors. Prior to Accretive Health, Dr. Rizk was President at McKesson Health Solutions, a business that provides clinical and financial solutions to healthcare payers. Before joining McKesson, Dr. Rizk served as Senior Partner and Global Director, Medical Management/Pharmacy for Deloitte Consulting. While at Deloitte, he led the company’s medical cost and quality management practice across all segments. Prior to that, he served as the Associate Medical Director and then Worldwide Medical Director at the Monsanto Corporation. Dr. Rizk currently serves as a board member at Intarcia, Inc., Accuray Inc. (ARAY), and the National Association for Hispanic Health. He also previously served on the National Clinical Advisory Board, National Quality Review Board, and was Director on the board of DMAA (The Care Continuum Alliance). Dr. Rizk’s work has been widely published in journals and books.
Dr. Rizk has been widely recognized in the healthcare Industry. Modern Healthcare has named Dr. Rizk numerous times as one of the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives in the United States,” and the “Top 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare”. Managed Healthcare Executive named him to its “Top 25 Leaders in Disease Management.” He has lectured at Wharton, Harvard, MIT, Columbia, and the Kellogg School of Management.
Executive Vice President, Operations – Analytics, Quality, and Payment Integrity
As Executive Vice President, of Analytics, Quality, and Payment Integrity Operations, Jordan is responsible for Cotiviti’s corporate strategy as well as the growth and operations of Cotiviti’s Retrospective Payment Integrity, Quality and Analytics, and Retail business units. In this capacity, he is entrusted with ensuring that Cotiviti’s vision aligns with our clients and the broader marketplace. He is committed to advancing our clients’ goals through solutions that empower their success in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape.
Jordan has spent two decades applying people, process, technology, and design thinking to improving the healthcare system – expanding access, improving outcomes, and lowering costs. He has proven leadership experience in understanding the market, developing growth strategies, and scaling transformational healthcare companies, including: Verscend, Verisk Health, and The Advisory Board.
Jordan earned an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree from Duke University, where he previously served on the Board of Trustees.

In addition, Chris has held leadership positions at several payer, provider, and healthcare services companies, including Health Dialog, Cigna HealthCare (NYSE: CI), and Matria Healthcare (now Alere). Chris currently sits on the board of directors of Regent Surgical Health and Emerson Hospital, serves on the advisory board of Jefferson University's Public Health Program, and is an editor for Population Health Management.
Chris received a master's degree in health administration from The Ohio State University and a bachelor's degree in zoology from Miami University.
Executive Vice President, Client Engagement
In his role as Executive Vice President of Client Engagement, Joe is responsible for ensuring the satisfaction of our clients. Joe engages with clients directly and provides strategic direction for our client engagement teams to deliver the best possible results for our customers’ success. By serving as an advocate for our clients internally and drawing on his two decades of experience in healthcare, he ensures their needs are both understood and met by Cotiviti’s team.
Prior to joining Cotiviti in September 2016, Joe most recently worked for McKesson Corporation, where he spent the majority of his career as Vice President of Account Management and oversaw the retention of thousands of payer, government, provider, and hospital clients by building and managing a strong client-facing team. He also previously worked for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Joe holds a master’s degree in management from Antioch University New England and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Maine.
Executive Vice President, Human Resources
As Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Cotiviti, Kerri is responsible for talent acquisition, training and development, employee relations, compensation, and benefits programs. Kerri works closely with the finance, operations, and strategy teams to ensure alignment between employee initiatives and organizational goals and objectives.
Prior to joining Cotiviti, Kerri was Corporate Human Resources Manager at George Weston Bakeries, Inc. While there, she developed and maintained HR initiatives including staffing, career development, training, and retention. Kerri also served as employment manager for Langham Hotel in Boston, where she was responsible for the administration of all HR functions including compensation, benefits, employee relations, legal compliance, and health and safety programs.
Kerri earned a master’s degree in human resources management from Emmanuel College and a bachelors in business administration from Bryant University. She also holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
Chief Financial and Administrative Officer
Peter brings more than 20 years of executive leadership in healthcare services and technology to his role at Cotiviti as Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and EVP of Transformation and International Operations. He is responsible for leading Cotiviti’s finance function, large-scale transformation projects across the enterprise, expanding the adoption of Lean Six Sigma and building a culture of continuous improvement and process excellence, and managing operational and technology teams in India and Nepal that support North America businesses.
Throughout his career, Peter has had the privilege of working with health plans and healthcare providers to solve their clinical and financial challenges. Prior to joining Cotiviti, he served as Chief Financial Officer and in other executive roles at several public and privately held companies, where he managed financial, technology, data informatics, compliance, client service, process improvement, and operational teams in corporate and divisional settings during periods of rapid revenue growth.
Peter spent nearly 13 years with McKesson and has since led two publicly traded healthcare companies through transformational transactions with private equity firms. He has also completed several major business turnarounds. Peter holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and received his Certified Public Accountant certificate from the state of Illinois.
Executive Vice President, Development & Innovation
As Executive Vice President for Development and Innovation, Nicole is responsible for delivering value through Cotiviti’s software engineering and innovation teams globally. As a member of the executive leadership team, she drives development for new product introduction as well as innovation across existing solutions. She accomplishes this by driving lean portfolio and agile practices for scale and entrepreneurial teams for research and innovation.
Nicole joined Cotiviti in 2014 and brings more than two decades of experience in information technology to her role. She is the former Vice President of Technology of Helix Education where she managed the IT and organizational stack across infrastructure, development, Q/A, and technical projects, as well as serving on the executive board to provide oversight, direction and measurement of corporate objectives. Nicole originally began her technical career at Cisco Systems in Silicon Valley where she held a variety of leadership roles across the organization including branding, corporate website development, and enterprise data and security initiatives.
Nicole earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Brigham Young University.
Executive Vice President, Operations – Risk Adjustment, CCV & Fraud
As Executive Vice President, for Risk Adjustment, Clinical Chart Validation, and Fraud Operations, Michael is responsible for leading Cotiviti’s revenue business unit. In this role he is responsible for risk adjustment, clinical chart validation, and fraud, waste, and abuse lines of businesses. He also leads retrieval operations, machine learning and strategic analytics, as well as the enterprise help desk.
Prior to joining Cotiviti, Michael spent 15 years at McKesson, where he managed full P&L responsibilities for implementation services, client and payer support operations for all software and analytic solutions, as well as payer services and enterprise transformation functions. With over 25 years of experience, Michael has worked across the entire spectrum of healthcare, including payer services and provider revenue cycle, while managing a diverse collection of operational teams.
Michael earned a bachelor’s degree from Wabash College.
Executive Vice President, Operations – Payment Integrity
As Executive Vice President of Payment Integrity Operations, Matthew leads Cotiviti’s payment operations business unit where he is responsible for the success of Cotiviti’s prospective payment solution and content development team, as well as coding validation. He is a courageous leader and creative problem solver who believes in serving those on his team.
Through his 16 years at Cotiviti, Matthew has held previous roles with responsibility for implementation teams, software development, as well as operating responsibility in the clinical claim validation and retrospective claims accuracy solution sets. Prior to Cotiviti, Matthew was the Senior Manager of Healthcare at Accenture, where he consulted and defined solutions for Blues Plans and other large national payers with their business challenges, as they sought to improve care and reduce administrative costs.
Matthew earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma State University.
Executive Vice President, Shared Services
As Executive Vice President of Shared Services, Roy oversees Cotiviti’s Centers of Excellence for infrastructure, information security, coding operations, internal benchmarking, and enterprise client reporting. In addition to being responsible for these critical functions, Roy is also a member of the executive leadership team helping to drive business strategies and performance initiatives.
Roy has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of roles in healthcare. Prior to Cotiviti, he was most recently the Vice President of Infrastructure and acting CIO for Accretive Health, where he directed technology and services teams including security, project management, internal systems, infrastructure, and service support. Roy also previously served as the Vice President of Business Operations for RelayHealth, a business unit of McKesson, where he was responsible for the implementation services, education services, enterprise project management, infrastructure, and quality assurance units.
Roy earned a JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky.
Richard Pozen, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Serving as Chief Medical Officer for Cotiviti, Dr. Pozen is an expert in clinical coding and works extensively with Cotiviti’s medical directors and clients.
Dr. Pozen was a co-founder of iHealth Technologies, one of Cotiviti's original predecessors, and has extensive experience on both the payer and provider sides of healthcare. After running a private practice for 14 years, he created Cardiology Network, Inc., to provide specialty management services to healthcare payers. He subsequently held leadership positions at Vivra Specialty Partners and Magellan Specialty Health.
Dr. Pozen earned his B.A. at the University of Chicago, went to medical school at Rutgers, did his internal medicine training at Montefiore Hospital in New York, and completed his cardiology fellowship at Georgetown University. Following that, he served on the cardiology faculty at the University of Miami.
