TUGG's 'Night at the Museum' Event a Boston Tech Hit

Last night, Technology Underwriting Greater Good (TUGG) hosted its inaugural "Tech Night at the Museum".

The event, held at the Isabelle Stewart Gardner Museum, brought together 200 members from the Boston tech and nonprofit communities for networking, libations, and a museum-wide scavenger hunt. Groups of 10 — eight from the tech community and two from TUGG’s nonprofit portfolio groups (First Teacher, Future Chefs, MassLEAP, Resilient Coders, Science Club for Girls, and WeThrive) — scoured the museum and competed to win prizes from Blackbird Donuts, Wine Riot, Startup Institute, and more.

“We wanted to create an opportunity for nonprofits to connect with people and create powerful relationships that live on after the event,” said Elizabeth Dobrska, program director at TUGG. “This [scavenger hunt] seemed like a fun option where everyone can explore together, work together, and take those relationships outside of the event.”

The first-ever Tech Night at the Museum was such a hit (early bird tickets sold out in just over an hour and general admission tickets sold out days in advance) that one can only hope TUGG will add it to its annual roster of events — the likes of which include its Wine and Tequila Party.

“We received such a positive response from the community, that we want to make it an annual event,” said Dobrska. “No one else is doing this — it’s the first ever Tech Night at the Museum in Boston. We definitely want to add it to the TUGG roster.”
