Tufin's New Offices in Boston - Recap of the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony (Slideshow)

Tufin is a cybersecurity company originally based in Tel Aviv that has developed a suite of products designed for network security and automation. Since the company’s founding in 2005, they have experienced growth in several sectors; their Tufin Orchestration Suite has become more robust to cater to their over 2000 customers (with some of them being more than half of the top 50 companies in the world) and they announced a 35% increase in revenue growth.

A company that faces growth of that magnitude would see that as a chance to branch out into a second location. Yesterday, Tufin welcomed employees, local government officials, and the press to a small-scale, but energetic, ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the new United States headquarters located in the Financial District.

The event had Tufin Co-Founder and CEO Ruvi Kitov, Governor Charlie Baker, General Consul of Israel to New England Yehuda Yaacov, and Tufin CMO Pat Walsh speaking about the importance of cybersecurity in the city and the company’s recent expansion.

Following the ceremony, Kitov had a chance to speak one-on-one about why the company selected Boston as their first international office.

“When we were trying to figure out a location in either the west or east, we initially chose Boston because of the seven-hour time difference between the US and Israel, but also because Boston is a clear leader in infrastructure technology,” Kitov told us. “Boston also has a rich history with cybersecurity with RSA, CyberArk, Mimecast, Rapid7, among others. It’s not only a cybersecurity hub but also a hub for Israeli companies.”

It was a conversation with CyberArk Co-Founder and CEO Udi Mokady that was the final push to have a US location in Boston. Kitov also explained why the company chose the Financial District over other locations in the city.

“A lot of our employees were spread out around Route 128 and everyone was going on these long commutes just to get to work,” Kitov said. “We also noticed a lot of younger talent is located closer to the city. We felt that the city converges to the downtown and Financial District area. The investment community is also active here.”

“It’s a small city, but it’s easy to get around for many of our employees here,” he added.

We also had a chance to take a look around the new offices as well. Take a look at the slideshow below!
