HUBweek: Celebrating the Big Ideas & Bold Solutions of Boston

In just 10 days Boston’s inaugural HUBweek kicks off.

If you don’t know much about HUBweek yet, you’ll soon be wondering how so as this civic collaboration between The Boston Globe, MIT, MGH and Harvard University will be engulfing Greater Boston with events, festivals, lectures and professional gatherings. The weeklong initiative begins Saturday October 3rd and runs through October 10th.

The unique convergence of art, science and technology that this region represents has created a culture of meaningful innovation and problem solving. HUBweek is a celebration of the big ideas and bold solutions that emerge from the spirit, intellectual energy and creativity of this community, and an entire week is being dedicated to showcasing it all to the world!

     HUBweek Boston

During HUBweek, events will sprout throughout Boston and Cambridge on sidewalks, in restaurants, research labs, lecture halls and cutting-edge institutions, at venues from Fenway Park and Lansdowne Street to the Seaport and Innovation District, and the campuses of MIT, Harvard and MGH.

HUBweek is all about bringing together the pillar industries of Boston to celebrate the people and success stories – Tech, Arts and Science. For us, in the tech and startup world, we see these worlds collide on a daily basis, be it ArtLifting out of MassChallenge who is using technology to create opportunity for those less fortunate and providing amazing art work to people and businesses; or Harvard University, whose Innovation Lab continues to produce incredible entrepreneurs and startups like, HelloToken, BriefMe and Baroo; or the many incredible healthcare tech companies, like ZappRX, CoPatient and Medisafe

For a full week thousands of people will get to see what many of us in the tech ecosystem are privy to on a daily basis. Groups like MITX Future Leaders Group are putting together events, like Celebrate Boston on Monday the 5th and kicking off the workweek with a gathering of folks across many industries. And that’s what the week is all about – getting exposed to new people and big ideas and spur some meaningful collaboration with other creative and brilliant minds in and around Boston.

All change-makers, dreamers and curious minds are invited to HUBweek to participate in cultural and creative dialogue to solve global issues, or simply to discover and get inspired by something new.

The official list of events and activities to hit up is pretty impressive. We certainly can’t list them all here, but you can access a full list here. Instead, we’ll highlight a few to get you excited:
