Serial entrepreneur, all-round product guy and hands-on leader. I've founded and operated multiple startups that have reached a liquidity event through an IPO or acquisition. Alumnus of IIT-Kanpur (CS) & Stanford (Ph.D. in CS) and received an Academy Award for Technical Achievement in 2001.

I’ve been on the leadership team at both public companies and startups at every stage, across a number of domain areas. Fields I’ve worked in at significant depth prior to Alignable: Enterprise Software, Computer Graphics, Retention marketing for high ASP products, RFID, IOT, CAD, Manufacturing, Metrology, Orthodontics, EAS/Security.
I enjoy disruptive innovation and have taught a course at MIT on the subject, and also consult/advise at all stages of growth.

Results-focused leader with proven ability to develop market strategies, provide executive sponsorship, launch new initiatives and drive businesses to scale.
With Constant Contact® starting in January 2001. Built the sales, business development, educational programs, and channel partner departments from the ground up, helping propel Constant Contact's growth to more than 400,000 customers and $175MM in revenue.
Developed Constant Contact’s Power of Relationships Program, an educational outreach program for small businesses, associations, and nonprofits offered globally by Constant Contact via live seminars and online webinars. This program provides small businesses and organizations with a comprehensive foundation on how to build successful, lasting customer relationships.
Has more than 20 years of experience building sales, business development, online, and marketing strategies for leading companies. Prior to Constant Contact was the Executive Director of Worldwide Sales & Business Development at AltaVista, a provider of search services and technology. Also held leadership positions at iAtlas Corp. InfoUSA® Inc., MFS Communications, SBC Communications (now AT&T), and Citicorp (now Citigroup Inc.).
Pascal Retting is currently CTO at Alignable. Pascal has been building websites since the late 80’s when they were called BBS’s. Graduating from MIT during the first dot com bust, he headed out west and started a web consulting company that survived a decade and a move back to Boston, launching a couple of failed startups of his own in the process. Finally hanging up his consulting hat as the 4th hire at Alignable, Pascal is a respected member of the Boston Rails and Front End Community, an author for Wiley, and a visiting professor at the Massachusetts College of Art, each year teaching programming to an unwitting class of Designers under the guise of “Advanced Web Projects.”
Jon currently leads Engineering at Alignable. Prior to joining, he held leadership roles at Nanigans and Care.com. Jon holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.
Dan Slagen is currently CMO at Alignable. A frequent speaker and guest contributor, Dan has been featured in the New York Times, Bloomberg TV, WSJ, Forbes and advises startups and marketing departments.
With successes in building and scaling comprehensive marketing teams, Dan has lead teams at HubSpot (NYSE: HUBS), Wayfair (NYSE: W), Crayon, Nanigans, Rock Coast Media (sold to AMP Agency) and others. In addition to marketing experience both on and offline, Dan has forged strategic marketing partnerships with companies including Google, Salesforce, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
We believe that local businesses are stronger together. Our goal is to help small business owners make the connections that lead to long-term relationships, generate more word-of-mouth referrals, and unlock access to the collective wisdom of the local business community.
Before starting Alignable, we spent months talking with hundreds of local business owners about how technology could help them grow their business. Our "Ah-ha!" moment came when person after person told us what they most wanted was an easy way to meet the other business owners on their street. We worked hand-in-hand with businesses right in our hometown of Acton, Massachusetts, making introductions, building relationships, and demonstrating how by working together they could attract new customers. Alignable today reflects many of the lessons we learned from those days.
