From a big-picture point of view, what experience or traits do you typically look for when interviewing and hiring new employees into LogMeIn?
We’re in search of candidates who are intellectually curious, adaptable, and most of all, excited to work at LogMeIn. To succeed, you’ll need to be collaborative and bring a desire to learn new things. We hire people who can see themselves progressing through the organization as the company grows, those who want to build their careers here. Diversity is also important to us, as we believe unique points of view, backgrounds and experiences not only bring about better outcomes but create more fun and compelling work environment. I am the executive sponsor of one of our diversity initiatives, LogHerIn, which supports the progression of women in technology and encourages diversity of thought and experience.

We love showing off our office space so if you know someone who works here, ask them to meet for coffee. If you get the chance to interview, you’ll get a full tour of our office before meeting the hiring manager and team you’d be working with each day. You’ll also meet your recruiter in-person, so be sure to use him or her as a resource to make the most of your visit to our office.
We frequently host in-office open houses as well, especially events geared towards individuals interested in sales roles. What types of activities are employees involved in at or outside the office?
We have several Employee Resource Groups such as LogHerIn as I mentioned earlier, recognizing and empowering female employees; [email protected], celebrating our LGBTQ+ community; and [email protected], dedicated to our black employees. These ERGs provide opportunities to get to know peers that you may not otherwise work with while sparking conversation and promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion at work. Around the office, you might also find us tending to the roof deck garden, playing a game of HORSE in the basketball court, or planning for our next Bring Your Child to Work Day.
There’s no shortage of ways to get involved out in our local communities, either. In 2018, our community outreach program, Mission Possible, organized over 150 volunteer events for employees to participate in globally.
People also like to get together in social settings after work to share the challenges and opportunities from the day. We’re fortunate to be located in the growing, dynamic Seaport District where we have many restaurants and entertainment spots nearby. What are the marquee events that define LogMeIn sales culture?
Sales Kickoff brings our global sales team together each year to share best practices, learn about the new innovations that will power the growth of our organization for the next year, and have a unique chance to network with our colleagues on a global basis. These events are the cornerstone of shaping our collaborative and inclusive culture. This year, more than 1,000 LogMeIn employees attended kickoff in Orlando, FL for a super-charged week of great content, conversation, and course-setting.
Sales Swap allows sales professionals to spend a week in an office of their choice and learn how those teams regularly manage their business, while also being introduced to a new culture or country. The goal of the swap is to give something and take something; meaning you share something innovative that your team is doing, and you take something innovative back from the other team.

We love that our employees have come from a variety of unique backgrounds. Leanne Ellard joined the team - she worked for the Red Sox prior and has a World Series ring of her own. We have a former NHL player in Ted Crowley. One of our sales reps in our Dublin office, Albin Lundqvist, does cameos on the show Vikings – we have all sorts of diverse backgrounds that drive the LogMeIn engine.
What’s your vision for LogMeIn going forward?
Our vision is to make LogMeIn the destination for world-class talent, where people can have a fun, learn and be challenged on a daily basis, all while developing skills that will propel them to be the future leaders of software technology.

What superhero could you see working at LogMeIn?
The Flash. If he can move faster than the speed of light, we’re hopeful he can match LogMeIn’s pace and move at the ‘speed of SaaS’.

LogMeIn is an inspiring place to work. The organization recognizes your achievements and hard work, the Executives and Senior Leadership members know you by name, and my teammates are passionate and motivate me to be better, take risks, and challenge the status quo. I come in every day excited and happy to be here.
In college, I studied Marketing and expected to find myself working in that department at a financial firm. I once participated in a fundraiser and was terrified of having to make cold calls - because of that, I would’ve laughed if someone told me I’d end up in Security Sales! Fast forward (many, many years later), I love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else. Security is continuously evolving and widely varies by company and industry so I’m able to learn something new every single day. I enjoy talking to customers and selling a market-leading solution that can alleviate their pains.
My advice for someone who is interested in joining the Sales team at LogMeIn would be to engage fearlessly and challenge yourself to be uncomfortable, while still being you. I began seeing success when I started thinking outside the box, whether it was getting creative with emails or adding a personal touch to my follow-ups – for example, if I speak to someone on the phone and they mention having a cold, I might send over some cough drops and a note after! Leverage your personality to rise above the noise with customers and peers. It will allow you to have better conversations and experiences with your prospects.

The people I work with are easily the best part of LogMeIn. Don’t get me wrong – LogMeIn offers A LOT of great perks – but it’s the huge group of extremely smart, talented individuals that inspire me to come to work every day.
I work in one of the most interesting positions in the Boston tech scene. As a Growth Hacker on the LogMeIn Innovation Team, it is my job to drive radical growth for the new technology solutions my team develops. My cross-functional team works as a startup within the larger organization -- testing, developing, and growing new products 6 – 8 times per year. I play the role of startup CMO, working alongside a developer, designer, and product lead. Our goal is to test and launch new product solutions that solve big problems.
There is always something fun going on at LogMeIn. Our internal teams work diligently to provide an activity or group for whatever you are looking for during your time here. From regular volunteer days to themed Thirsty Thursdays, or just hanging out around the coffee bar, there is something for everyone. My two favorite communities here at LogMeIn are our food community (LogMeIn-Eats) and our innovation community (Beta-Testers).
There are many incredible places to work in Boston, but LogMeIn is the cream of the crop. And it’s not because of our fancy coffee or snack selection, it’s because the people who work here have created an environment that thrives on innovation and general goodwill. Our mission is to “unlock the potential of the modern workforce” and I’m able to accomplish that by providing professional development opportunities to our employees. I get to do impactful work that I love every day, and am also given the feedback and coaching necessary to continuously improve my own skill set.
I may be biased, but even with some of the top products and services that LogMeIn provides, I do believe that the people are our best assets - everyone is willing to share and push each other to be the best they can be and to achieve the best results. Being able to learn from one another and take risks allows each of us to engage fearlessly and advance confidently, while also holding ourselves and each other accountable. When great decisions are made, we celebrate; but conversely, if decisions do not go as planned, everyone owns it, learns from it and moves on.
We’re also encouraged to bring our whole selves to work every day. There are several Employee Resource Groups to get involved with – I joined Pride at LogMeIn and LogHerIn (the LGBTQ and Women’s Leadership group, respectively) within the first week of starting at the organization. These groups not only provide opportunities to network and meet others with diverse backgrounds and interests but also offer a place where we can learn from each other and our experiences. Employees are also able to volunteer their time and skill set to support the communities we’re in through the Mission Possible program. For example, I’ve donated clothes and toys during Christmas, and also volunteered at a Victory Programs and Boston Living Center Celebration of Life Event serving Thanksgiving dinner to those in the community living with HIV and AIDS.
