Yesterday, a new Boston based fund launched within the local college scene called RoughDraft.vc.
This fund is financed by General Catalyst, but the investment decisions will come from students at Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Boston University, & Babson with the goal of providing seed funding (few hundred to $20K) to college entrepreneurs.
So, who is involved?
Peter Boyce - Harvard
Peter Boyce is a well known and very active student entrepreneur within the local Boston tech scene.
He is a student at Harvard and he's involved in a variety of companies and initiatives like Skillshare, Hack Harvard, Harvard Ventures, etc.
Zachary Hamed - Harvard
Zach Hamed is a junior at Harvard studying Computer Science. He created AidAide.com, a "TurboTax for financial aid," during his freshman year.
He sits on the board for Hack Harvard and he also plays an active role with the Harvard Innovation Lab and Harvard College Venture Partners.
Emma Tangoren - Boston University
Delian Asparouhov - MIT
Delian Asparouhov is a student at MIT studying Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
He is on the board of MIT StartLabs and was the co-founder of FanFuser. He also has experience working at Square.
Edward Burnell - MIT
John Brennan - Tufts
John Brennan is a student at Tufts, who is taking a break from his studies to join Price Intelligently.
John has also been involved in a couple of startups to include Universally and Navlit.
Ryan Dawidjan - Babson
Ryan Dawidjan is student athlete (lacrosse) from Babson.
He is currently working with the Blank Label team. He's previously spent some time at EverTrue and Performable (acquired by HubSpot).
Bilal Zuberi - General Catalyst
Bilal Zuberi is a Principal at General Catalyst and a very active member of the Boston startup scene.
