15 (now 17) Must Attend Events for this Fall



Now that summer is over, it is time to kick back into networking & conference mode!

We've put together a list of "can't miss" events that are happening between now and the end of the year.  I'm sure there will be more added to the mix (RubyRiot?, Dave Balter Tech Prom?), but here is what we have so far.  So, make sure you mark these dates down on your calendar, so you don't miss out!

MassTLC 2012 Leadedership Awards



September 13th



The 2012 Mass Technology Leadership Awards program spotlights the companies, people, and technologies that exemplify the best and the brightest in the Massachusetts technology community.

September 21st



Celebrate and party with TUGG, their sponsors, and 500 volunteers at The Estate to recognize the previous day's Tech Gives Back effort, which is a day of volunteering and giving back to Boston.

September 24th



WebInno is always a must attend event, but this time they are spicing things up.  Instead of the normal format where three startups demo their products, they are having the founders of some of the area's fastest growing (rockets) companies demo their products:  DataXu, Gemvara, & HubSpot.

Business of Software

October 1st - 3rd

The Business of Software Conference is an annual event held in Boston where speakers from all over come to talk about how to grow and scale software businesses.  The content is highly relevent for anyone in a software company - CEOs, Founders, Product Managers, Marketing, Engineering, etc.

October 5th

MIT Startup Bootcamp


October 8th



Startup Bootcamp at MIT is an awesome full day event which typically features speakers from many of today's most successful startups.  Last year, they had founders from Kayak, Airbnb, Dropbox, Quora, Foursquare, etc.  This year's lineup has not been announced yet, but I'm sure it won't disappoint.

BREW (Boston Region Entrepreneurship Week)



October 15th - 26th



BREW is back for a third year.  This is a two week long celebration of events, programs, & activities around entrepreneurship in Greater Boston and the surrounding communities.

Founder Dialogues IX



October 22nd



The next Founder Dialogues event has been scheduled for Oct 22nd and this time, Eric Paley will be conducting his usual fireside chat interview with Dharmesh Shah of HubSpot.  All of these events are awesome and I'm sure the house will be packed for this one!

EmTech is an annual conference organized by the MIT Technology Review.  This conference is focused on emerging technologies and their impact. Each year, they bring together key players from the technology, engineering, academic and management communities to discuss the technological innovations that are changing the face of business and driving the global economy.

TechStars / DartBoston After Party???


November 15th



This event has not been scheduled yet... but there has been an amazing after-party following each TechStars' Demo Day event.  DartBoston has taken the lead for organizing each party and landed musical acts like Coolio and Robert Randolph & the Family Band to perform.  The current TechStars program is scheduled to wrap up on Nov 15th, so keep an eye out and hopefully, they won't disappoint!!!

November 16th


If you could only attend one event all year... this would be the one to pick.  Hands-down, it is an unbelievable day and what makes this event great is the attendees, who ultimately make the agenda (which is the point of an unconference style event).  Join over 800 people from the tech eco-system to discuss a broad range of topics!
