The Vilna Shul’s Speaker Series, started in September 2007, is a monthly social networking and learning event for business professionals located in downtown Boston. It is a unique networking opportunity to interact with top names from journalism, technology, law, finance, the sciences, arts and culture, and other fields. Speakers include Scott Kirsner, Innovation Economy columnist for the Boston Globe; Nicholas Negroponte, Chairman Emeritus of MIT's Media Lab and also the founder of the One Laptop Per Child Association (OLPC); Kenneth J. Novack, former Vice Chairman of Time Warner; Irving Wladawsky-Berger, Chairman Emeritus, IBM Academy of Technology; Jonathan Kraft, the president and chief operating officer for The Kraft Group and president of the three-time Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots; Ed Zander, former CEO and Chairman of Motorola and SUN Microsystems, and many others. In addition, each year the Series holds between 3-5 panel discussions with prominent members of the venture capital and entrepreneur communities. The Vilna Shul is located on Boston’s historic Beacon Hill, is the last remaining immigrant era synagogue in the city of Boston.
