Romulus Capital (RC) is a seed-stage venture capital fund raised to help talented students at the most entrepreneurial institutions transform their passions to action. We have recently closed Romulus Capital I, focused primarily on investing in diverse ideas generated by Boston area entrepreneurs.
Many students develop start-up ideas, only to find progress limited by an inability to find the $10,000-100,000 that can help a team create a prototype, secure patents, or run trials. This amount is often too large to demand from family and friends and too small for traditional VC funds. Since most students don’t have the strong personal network necessary for procuring angel investment, our fund fills a void in the entrepreneurial space. We aim to facilitate commercialization of such start-ups and achieve a generous return for our investors.
Our team is not a group of just any students. Our carefully-chosen team consists of General Partners and Associates with a hard-to-match breadth of functional and geographical experience. And as students, we can form relationships with teams that other investors may take months to develop; this advantage translates to a stronger alignment of interests and a fundamental trust that facilitates a successful partnership.
