Spindle is looking for someone who loves shipping elegant web interfaces that are easy to use and always responsive. You are someone who is excited about UX and interface design and you have expertise writing Javascript and HTML/CSS. You'll work closely with our product and visual design teams to rapidly design, prototype, and ship features in customer-facing web products and internal tools. As a member of the engineering team, you'll also be working closely with our platform engineers to translate our backend services into a cohesive set of client APIs and templates to be consumed by a wide variety of browsers and devices. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding development environment, be able to pick up new technologies and languages quickly, and have experience with tools such as Git and Unix scripting.

Responsibilities:

• Implement front-end designs for public and internal web applications using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Python
• Efficiently plan, implement, and test new features with minimal supervision
• Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, visual and product designers and back-end engineers
• Promptly fix bugs and troubleshoot problems across the platform

Skills:

• Deep expertise with JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, and HTML/CSS
• Experienced with Python (Java is a plus)
• Disciplined approach to testing
• Strong command of web standards, CSS-based design, and cross-browser compatibility
• Good understanding of web technologies and familiarity with deploying on Unix/Linux systems
• Familiarity with visual design tools
• Comfortable in a demanding work environment
• Strong verbal and written communication

Background:

• 3+ years experience building and shipping consumer or enterprise products for the web
• A degree in a technology-related field, or relevant experience
