User Interface Engineer

The User Interface Engineer will work with engineers, designers, marketing, User Experience analyst, and the rest of the RunKeeper team to oversee and build the UI of a product from conception until launch...and then some.

Responsibilities:

• Work with User Interface Designers and Software Engineers to implement our latest products
• Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
• Interact with other team members to incorporate their feedback and vice versa

Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of web technologies (HTML5/CSS3/JS)
• Experience with JSP
• Very detail oriented. Strives for pixel perfect implementation
• Proficient tackling browser compatibility issues
• Unmistakable passion for elegant and intuitive user interfaces
• Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code for UI components
• Knowledge of but not reliant on Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks (jQuery, etc.)
• Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking
• 3+ years of experience building web applications
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
