Connance is seeking a talented Technical Support Engineer to apply their technical skills and application knowledge to help diagnose issues and provide solutions internally and for our clients. In this role, you will diagnose and fix systems in multiple environments by monitoring data flows and system statuses.

The successful Technical Support Engineer will have strong communication skills, as well as a solid understanding of IT networking and system issues in a Windows environment. This individual must be passionate about learning technologies and able to maintain a clear, organized approach in critical situations.

Responsibilities:             

  • Monitor the daily operations of the enterprise application environment by analyzing information and recommending short and long-term resolutions to issues; including the creation and maintenance of scripts and automation tools
  • Respond to unplanned customer issues and incidents, solve challenging technical support issues, answer technical questions, and develop means to reduce downtime and minimize customer impact related to supported applications
  • Write and verify results of Microsoft SQL Server queries
  • Support the IT systems and networking needs of a MS Window’s environment
  • Capture experience from troubleshooting system issues and diagnosing support incidents by documenting known issues and solutions
  • Contribute to our standards and processes for maintaining and updating our production systems 

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 1+ years in a customer facing support role
  • 1+ years supporting Windows systems and networks
  • Experience with Web Applications, MS SQL Server and SSRS
  • Strong understanding of the operational requirements of “Software As A Service” applications and managing outsourced data center support
  • Network experience with firewalls, sFTP, HTTP, FTPs, SSH and VPN's
  • Scripting experience with PERL, XML, scheduled tasks or other administrative programs
  • Experience managing and maintaining JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience working with virtualization a plus
  • Experience with documentation of complex issues, processes, procedures
  • Ability to understand and explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task on a variety of work assignments in a challenging, fast-paced work environment

*This position requires participation in On-Call rotation
