We want to be an alternative to big box retailers by creating an online marketplace that connects consumers with local artisans and craftspeople across the country. Not only does our site allow consumers to find exactly what they are looking to have made, it also allows custom makers of all types to effectively market themselves in an increasingly digital world.

What we’re looking for

An experienced Technical Product Manager that understands consumer-web experience and fired up about getting their hands dirty in a collaborative product environment. We’re looking for someone with the technical acumen to keep engineering on the upswing while collaborating with the product team to drive improvements and innovation throughout the CustomMade marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Define and prioritize product requirements and write up comprehensive specs ensuring alignment with product strategy
• Participate in the definition and prioritization of new site enhancements, releases, bug/fixes and product plans
• Manage trade-offs and work closely with development and design to deliver on requirements
• Utilize excellent communication skills to translate technical or product changes to marketing, sales, operations and other non-technical staff to ensure successful product launches

Requirements

• Experience working in a fast-paced, innovative environment with many moving parts.
• Bachelors Degree in technical or related business field
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a Product Manager, ideally in a consumer-web, startup environment
• Extremely detail-oriented and analytical
• Experience with a wide range of technologies and programs – from Keynote to SQL 

Bonus Skills

• Experience working on a product where revenue generation was still being determined
• Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science
• Experience building a transactional site, ideally a marketplace
