Sr. Security Pre-Sales Engineer/Solutions Architect

We are looking for a high-energy, experienced security pre-sales engineer to play an instrumental role in accelerating our sales initiatives. We need a self-starter who excels in high-paced startup environments and thrives on pitching to CXO’s, CISO’s, and security guru’s.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead executive-level technical demonstrations & conversations with CxO & CISO audiences at large enterprise organizations
  • Deliver compelling demos with the objective of moving the prospect into trial
  • Assess customer requirements/objectives and tailor Threat Stack’s technical and business value proposition to those needs
  • Effectively position Threat Stack against competitive offerings
  • Act as the Technical Account Manager throughout the evaluation process, including:- Taking ownership of all technical aspects of the trial process to ensure a successful outcome - Assisting prospects with system configuration (policy configs, alert rules, etc.) - Addressing technical challenges with creative solutions - Providing consultative insight on security monitoring best practices
  • Capture requested features and feedback to Product Management, Engineering & Marketing teams
  • Develop technical documentation for product
  • Gather competitive intelligence and construct take-out documentation
  • Train and mentor vendor and reseller partner engineers on positioning our solutions to prospective customers and managing trials
  • Travel: This is primarily an inside position working from our Boston Seaport office, but will require occasional travel - likely less than 20%

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following background/skill sets:

  • 5-7 years experience as a security pre-sales engineer for successful Information security vendor(s) servicing Fortune 1000 enterprises
  • Authoritative knowledge of Linux OS operations & commands
  • Detailed understanding of large enterprise security architectures, tools, and business issues
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as IDS, SIEM, firewalls, anti-malware, etc.
  • Familiarity with public cloud environments & security services - especially Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with auto-deployment tools such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Successful performances in startup environments is a substantial plus
  • Computer Science degree desirable
  • References from former employers & customers required
