We need to explore moving our enterprise application which is housed in a caged hardware and software environment in a data center to the cloud. Right now, we are working on the following: we are working on figuring out how to move the app to the cloud, which pieces in which order, how to architect it, and how to leap our environment forward. Who You Are
You have 3-7 years’ experience working in an IT environment. You have created and built infrastructure solutions for all phases of a custom software systems development life cycle (SDLC). You have a four-year college degree and you assume the lead role in creating and improving technical solutions for the established business needs of the company. You have excellent verbal, written, and diagram communication skills. You are articulate in communicating concepts, and have the ability to communicate complex technology solutions to non-technical audiences when necessary. You place a premium on customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do
In support of Communispace’s production infrastructure, you will:

• Provide on-going support of the existing production and disaster recovery infrastructure comprised primarily of virtualized windows servers. You will ensure all facets of the production infrastructure are available and healthy on a 24x7 basis. You will respond to alerts and take corrective action to ensure high-availability of our production environments and participate in an afterhours on-call rotation.
• Setup and support the network, development, and QA virtual server environments and SAN, and provide support to the Application QA engineers.
• Measure and ensure on-going performance metrics are maintained for our production application.
• Provide input and directly participate in critical technology architecture design decisions that enhance the overall effectiveness and performance of the enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Work in coordination with other internal teams (i.e. applications, database) to ensure the infrastructure fully and effectively supports current and planned application systems.
• Provide input and directly participate in managing and enhancing critical areas of the IT infrastructure operations including capacity planning, system availability and performance, and DR/BCP.

Requirements

• Experience managing Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 environments with emphasis on IIS servers a plus.
• Experience working in a 24x7 uptime environment with an on-call component
• Strong networking experience and understanding of protocols.
• Experience working with SAN and preferably EMC based storage tools
• VMware experience (vSphere 4.x)
• Strong monitoring skills (Nagios)
• Experience working with blade servers, load balancers and firewall administration
• Disaster recovery experience a huge plus
• Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2005/2008
• Must be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities

Desired skills

• VMware Certifications
• Experience with designing, building and managing multi-site Active Directory domains
• Experience designing and implementing security policies
• Experience with capacity planning, system performance management and DR/BCP.
• Experience with infrastructure technology evaluation, architecture design, and implementation.
• Knowledge of a programming or scripting language such as VBScript, C#, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of Red Hat Linux/Centos.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and work under moderate supervision.

• Experience with internet security practices - firewall, IDS, machine hardening, AD permissions.
