As Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for understanding key business requirements and developing IT architecture, solutions, and technical strategies that support and evolve our global solutions.  The initial focus of this role is B2C eCommerce and Digital projects, and the role will evolve over time to include additional business priorities such as B2B and Retail Cross Channel integration. You will research, select, and implement new tools, templates, and technical components needed to build world class platforms and solutions. You will provide technical leadership for eCommerce projects, the eCommerce platform and integrations, and for other key IT initiatives throughout the project lifecycle from concept through implementation and support. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the technical design,  integrations, interfacing with vendor technology/solutions, and guiding and mentoring internal teams on architectural/integration decisions. As an integral member of the IT team, you will assist supervisors and business managers with setting overall technical direction of the eCommerce platform and other IT applications/platforms. You will drive internal teams to deliver innovative solutions that will continue to positively differentiate New Balance’s eCommerce offerings. You will also provide exceptional service and support to the business teams through flawless execution of technical solutions and timely problem resolutions.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years progressive experience in IT or a related field, with 3-5 years of experience of full lifecycle eCommerce/Digitial implementations. Must have experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise level applications. Experience with related platforms and business areas, such as mobile and retail platforms, is preferred but not required.
  • 2 or more years in technical leadership roles including developing technology strategy, application and enterprise architecture, systems integration and development, and package implementation.
  • Proven experience working with one or more eCommerce packages (ATG, Hybris, IBM Websphere commerce, Demandware). Experience with SaaS model preferred.
  • Expertise in one or more technology platforms, languages, databases, and/or reporting tools such as J2EE, C#, .NET, Javascript, XML, Dimensional Insight, Jaspersoft, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience managing assignments with vendors and in-house teams and mentoring development teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Occasional travel will be required.
