We are looking for results-oriented people like you to join a small, close-knit team of senior engineers and architects. We use a broad range of technologies and open-source development concepts to create and maintain assets focused on the needs of Endeca’s Enterprise customers. Our work focuses on a portlet framework and library of highly interactive components that enable our consultants, customers and partners to rapidly develop rich applications that harness Endeca’s Information Access Platform to deliver business solutions ranging from enterprise search to supply chain analysis.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to apply interaction designs and visual mockups to working software via standards-compliant, cross browser compatible CSS, HTML and JavaScript. Candidates will embed within a team of experienced Java application developers working in a lean/agile environment, and will regularly interact with stakeholders and UX resources. Above all, candidates are expected to make our products and applications look good.

Responsibilities
• Implement new, innovative, and intuitive interface designs for browser-based enterprise applications
• Keep current on new browsers, versions, capabilities & limitations
• Participate in all aspects of software development for user interface components: definition, design, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, etc.
• Interface with product management and UX resources in iterative interface design and development
• Development and execution of software tests (e.g. browser automation) and debugging routines
• Enhancements, modifications, and bug fixes to existing software modules
• Contribute to planning and estimation activities

Minimum Qualifications
• 3-5 years web UI development experience
• Expertise with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with developing with, and extending, JavaScript widget libraries (e.g. YUI, ExtJS, JQuery UI, etc.)
• Proficiency with rich, interactive, AJAX-based interface development
• Proficiency with cross browser-compatible interface development
• Expertise in debugging and resolving client-side functionality and performance issues in multiple browsers
• Experience with agile or lean development practices
• Excellent technical and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience as a self-starter

Preferred Experience
• BS in Computer Science or related area
• Proficiency with JQuery, ExtJS, or other JavaScript libraries
• Experience with (and/or a formal degree in) interaction design, information architecture, visual design or other user experience practices and principles
• Experience with Java-based web applications
• Experience with Java Portlet Specification (JSR-168, JSR-286), or other component frameworks
• Experience with Liferay Portal and/or Alloy UI
• Experience with search applications
• Experience with business intelligence and analysis applications
