The Responsibilities
• Responsible for standard and advanced system administration/engineering duties. Including, but not limited to, installation, monitoring, backup & recovery, tuning, support of infrastructure & business applications and architecture.
• Work effectively with team of System Administrators/Engineers to maintain uptime, consistency, scalability and performance while meeting business needs.
• Work effectively with System Administrators/Engineers, DBA’s, Programmers, Project Managers, Business representatives, Vendors and/or Analysts to complete tasks in timely manner.
• Know or quickly learn environment – technical and business, through initiative and direction from senior staff and/or peers.
• Mentoring new and/or junior administrators.
• Participate effectively on team and enterprise projects.
• Potential architecture and research duties.
• Demonstrate initiative through technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, business knowledge, organizational skills and professionalism.
• Proactively take measures to stabilize, automate and make efficient the systems environment.
The Requirements
• Advanced level experience in the areas of systems administration\engineering in a Windows Server 2003 environment.
• Experience managing Exchange 2007 Mail Systems.
• Demonstrated advanced application in the areas of hardware devices, operating systems, databases, applications and how they interrelate.
• Demonstrated application of advanced system structures and commands. (TCP/IP, DNS, RAID, volume management, backup management/concepts etc).
• Demonstrated application of OS and Shell/NT scripting and/or other languages.
• Ability and motivation to learn quickly in dynamic environment.
• Strong technical aptitude
• Strong oral and/or written communication skills
• Strong technical, organizational and/or interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to consistently apply technical knowledge, communication, interpersonal and/or business skills.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
• Knowledge of multiple operating systems, specifically Enterprise LINUX
• Network switching, firewall, load balancing concepts.
• SQL Server 2005 or newer
• Experience in heterogeneous platform environments (Windows and LINUX)
