The TripAdvisor Flights team is looking for a passionate, talented, and resourceful Senior Software Engineer to join us in our Newton, MA office. The Flights team is responsible for both the TripAdvisor Flights metasearch engine as well as SeatGuru.com. We move quickly, and we're seeking individuals who thrive in this challenging environment.

• 6+ years software development experience

• Passion for the web and desire to create and implement complex computer science solutions
• BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience developing and maintaining high-volume software in a Unix/Linux environment
• Expert level understanding of the Java stack, and mid-level experience with the LAMP stack
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented design patterns and how they are used in software design
• An understanding of XHTML, CSS, XML, MySQL and JavaScript
• An understanding of AJAX and other Web 2.0 technologies
• Passion for and experience developing great web products end-to-end

The successful candidate will communicate well, be committed to delivering quality work on an aggressive schedule, and must be able to function independently as well as part of a team. Must document code faithfully and take good coding practices seriously.
