Company: Blueleaf
Location: Cambridge, MA
Blueleaf is an angel-funded startup building a new way to deliver
financial services online that we believe will become THE investing
interface on the web. We are seeking a bright, passionate, full stack
Rails engineer.
Blueleaf will help people take control of their investments through
helping them understand their investments, monitoring their investments
for them every day, helping them collaborate with the people they trust,
and securely powering third-party apps with their financial data. To do
this, we’re building a hub connecting investors, their families and
their financial advisors to ALL their investment and bank accounts, and
to one another. Our ultimate goal is ambitious: we want to transform
financial services the way Amazon transformed retail sales and Google
transformed advertising.
We are six guys: a lean startup CEO, a financial cryptographer
CTO/coder, a serial entrepreneur VPE/coder, a test-driven demon
engineer, a brilliant ex-Hashrocket user experience designer, and a
crafty guerrilla marketer. We’re always looking for the best and
brightest to join our world-class team. Our investors include
high-profile founders from some of the largest sites on the Internet as
well as some of the smartest investors in the world.
We currently have an invitation-only Alpha that we’ve shared with a
handful of Blueleaf friends and we’ll happily share with you. Our
process is agile: customer driven with quick iterations and A/B testing.
Your Responsibilities:
* Work closely with CEO, designer, and the rest of the engineering team to refine requirements
* Learn and hack the system from end to end
* Work in short iterations with frequent releases
Requirements:
* 2+ years full stack Rails experience
* TDD/RSpec/Cucumber
* Comfort with Linux system administration
* Learned re-user of code and design patterns
* Fearless coder
* Interested in learning about personal finance
Experience with or willingness to learn:
* AJAX/JavaScript and one or more UI libraries (we use jQuery)
* Haml and Sass /CSS
* Git
* Scaling web apps
* Continuous deployment
