Rue La La is seeking a two Project Managers with strong software delivery experience to join our e-commerce technology team.  You will be responsible to define, plan, and manage mission critical projects for the Rue Store Front and Store Manager platforms.  This is a brand new initiative.  This technology upgrade is being made to help scale the organization for massive growth.  As a member of the Technology Program Office, you will shape the project management and solution development life cycle methodologies, define and implement best practices related to Agile/Scrum, project planning and estimation, controls and metrics.  The ideal candidate will have a track record of success leading multi-disciplined teams to deliver complex web solutions in a fast-paced business environment where time to market and quality are paramount.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with the VP, Technology Program Management Office, establish PMO best practices, processes and tools
  • Effectively collaborate with business sponsors and subject matter experts to define the business case for a requested solution, including ROI and NPV analysis as applicable
  • Collaborate with product management team to define product roadmap, maintain and groom backlog
  • Organize and facilitate project planning, including estimation of all project activities and deliverables, resource requirements and scheduling
  • Determine, track and communicate project success metrics; design and implement remediation plans as required
  • Define and assess project risk and effectively deploy mitigation plans
  • Manage execution of all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Effectively lead teams to ensure collaboration, productivity, accountability and transparency
  • Track, measure and communicate team velocity/productivity, milestone and sprint/release progress, and issue resolution
  • Ensure all project tracking databases, such as JIRA and Confluence are up to date
  • Keep JIRA up-to-date to provide transparency on Product & Sprint Backlogs
  • Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the project, milestone, and sprint goals
  • Effectively resolve conflict
  • Empower the teams to self-organize
  • Ensure the team strives to make each increment of functionality potentially shippable
  • Recommend improvements and assist in changes to our software delivery processes

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 7+ years relevant project management experience in a Scrum Master role
  • Experience managing web and technology projects.  Mobile and Ecommerce are a plus
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all Rue stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in delivering large scale, complex development initiatives
  • Results-driven team player and leader
  • Ability to hold team members accountable, set clear performance standards, resolve performance issues and keep the team on task
  • Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values and practices
  • Exceptional problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication, organization and time-management skills 
  • Ability to coach and mentor others
  • Strong desire for continued learning and self-improvement
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Scrum Master Certification is a plus
