Title:  Project Manager

Purpose and Scope:

Reporting to the VP of Project Management, this person will be responsible for leading projects with the IT Operations team.  This position will project manage the bi-weekly sustaining engineering release cycle and manage the workload for the team to resolve application support tickets.  This role will work closely with the Director of Business Systems to prioritize development items, scope project iterations and define appropriate reports/metrics.  The ideal candidate is experienced in agile project methodologies, has a demonstrated track record in successful delivery of sustaining engineering projects, is detailed oriented and has a passion for improving customer experiences.  He/she has a technical acumen and is interested in collecting & analyzing data for the purpose of continuous improvement.

Principal Responsibilities:

Manage the business application support ticket triage & escalation process.  Manage resource allocation between the ticket resolution and sustaining engineering team based on workload.

  • Lead cross-functional sustaining engineering team through a bi-weekly software release cycle - establishing milestones, managing resources, scope and timelines.
  • Schedule & facilitate the planning meeting, daily stand up, review and retrospective meetings across iterations.
  • Maintain appropriate project artifacts for communicating status & schedule to key constituents across the organization.
  • Track, manage and drive issue resolution.
  • Work closely with business unit representatives to understand project requirements and with team members to develop accurate estimates & iteration scope.
  • Collaborate with other project managers to improve the Project Management discipline and foster adoption of agile methodology within the organization.

Education and Experience Requirements:

BS/BA required, PMP certification a plus

  • 3-5 years relevant project management experience, consulting background a plus
  • Proven track record successfully managing multiple projects of varying sizes simultaneously from initiation to closing
  • Solid understanding of agile project management methodologies
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage a cross-functional project scope & team
  • Ability to facilitate successful workshops and meetings
  • Ability to quickly understand business processes, gather and document system requirements
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills at all levels of an organization
  • Superb organization skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project required
