Product Manager, Energy Efficiency

EnerNOC, a leading provider of demand response and energy efficiency solutions, has an immediate need for a Product Manager to join our world-class Product Management organization.  The Product Manager will be responsible for our energy efficiency software platform, EfficiencySMART.  Simply stated, this individual will help build exceptional products that are used by thousands of people on a daily basis to save energy and reduce green house gases.  This is a terrific opportunity to have a major impact on some of the most innovative “killer applications” of the smart grid.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the product roadmap for EnerNOC’s EfficiencySMART energy efficiency solution
• Work directly with our customers, engineers, and members of our field operations, finance, and sales teams to understand customer problems and gather requirements
  Develop business plans for compelling new product concepts
• Prioritize roadmap and feature requests, balancing competing requests
• Define complete end-to-end solutions to be delivered with each new software release, approximately once per quarter
• Document business requirements, and collect market evidence
• Represent the voice of customer in the development process
• Ensure customer needs are addressed by participating as the product owner on development teams
• Support sales with key customers, prospects, and partners; both listening to customer requirements, and addressing product questions
• Perform demonstrations on the benefits of the product capabilities for external and internal audiences
• Evaluate third party and open source alternatives to assist in build vs. buy decisions

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent; MBA preferred
• 8 to 10 years in software or hardware product management
• Experience with some or all of the following technologies:  Flex, Java, Oracle
• Knowledge and experience with SaaS applications
• Experience in smart grid, energy management or carbon reporting a plus
• Passion for great products, and a desire to delight customers
• Ability to sift through details quickly and determine what’s important
• Experience with both Scrum and more traditional software development methods
• Ability to work in a fast paced exciting environment
• Superior verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adeptly demonstrate products
• Ability to interact with co-workers at all levels of the company
• Strong and focused team player and a consensus builder
• Excellent computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• New product introduction experience working with cross functional teams to ensure a products are ready to release to market
• Creativity and a sense of humor

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience within and/or passion for the clean tech industry
