Information Technology Manager

Fluidnet is a developer of advanced IV infusion system solutions that address the growing workflow, safety, and regulatory demands across most clinical areas of care. The company is helping to redefine this critical therapy by combining device and information technologies. The company currently is finishing the product development effort, and preparing to submit its 510(k) submission to the FDA. Its simple, easy-to-use infusion system will help significantly improve the effectiveness for caregivers and patients.  

The Role:
The Information Technology Manager plans, directs and manages all corporate information technology assets to ensure the development and implementation of cost-effective information systems and efficient computer operations to meet the current and future technology needs of the company.  In this position you will be responsible for the establishment of company-wide IT policies, systems infrastructure development and implementation, telecommunications, networks, and disaster recovery.  The IT Manager will be responsible for keeping computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs as well as installation of new software, software releases, system upgrades, patches and resolution of software related problems.  The IT Manager will be required to perform maintenance, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of networking devices including but not limited to switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls and VPN devices.

Duties:

  • Manages the development, implementation, installation, operation, problem resolution and maintenance of all information and functional systems and equipment for the organization, including backup, storage, and retrieval functions.
  • Recommends the purchase, lease, rent, license or other acquisitions from outside sources of computer systems, communications systems and hardware, software or services needed to meet the company’s information technology needs, in accordance with established corporate policies in order to optimize management and operational functionality.
  • Directs the planning and continuous improvement of all IT equipment and procedures to maintain pace with technological progress to ensure they are consistent with the company’s business needs and strategic plans.
  • Develops and implements all information systems policies, controls, standard practices and security measures to ensure data integrity and reliability, security, legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains and monitors SPAM detection devices and corporate anti-virus systems
  • Administers Fluidnet conference calling and calling card systems
  • Maintains and supports directory level file structure and permissions for file servers, websites and FTP servers, as applicable.
  • Provides support for VPN remote access and connectivity
  • Recommends changes or enhancements in data processing, communication or office systems and equipment so that expenses are minimized while ensuring reliable and timely services and productivity are maintained.
  • Establishes controls to stay within the specified limits of the annual operation plan for IT expenses.
  • Develops, maintains and tests, disaster recovery plans.  
  • Maintains knowledge of developments in the area of systems and hardware technologies and makes recommendations for incorporating these new developments into the future needs of the company.
  • Acts as liaison to facility and property managers to troubleshoot problems in the office environment, such as HVAC, lighting, etc.

Requirements:

  • BS in information systems preferred
  • 8-10 years of information system experience preferred.  6-8 years of experience is required with 1-2 years in a management position.  
  • 6+ years of experience supporting and administrating Microsoft technologies (e.g. MS Exchange, Office, Outlook, SQL Server). 
  • Experience with hosted email and file server solutions preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in network management and security
  • SQL Server database administration experience required, design experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
