We're looking for a technical teammate to join our small & scrappy engineering team immediately. You will be part of the founding team, with enormous opportunity for you to have an impact and to grow as our service and company grows. You must have a passion for shipping elegant, efficient products that will be used by many hundreds of thousands of people around the world.

Some of the things you can expect to do:

• Owning the overall architectural vision and responsibility for all engineering functions
• Writing code to build amazing products for the Shareaholic community in various languages that is beautiful, functional, and easy to maintain and extend
• Defining engineering standards and processes for the Shareaholic team to follow
• Making sure that Shareaholic continues to be fast as we grow and release more features
• Contributing your ideas and help shape the direction of our products
• Being agile, iterating fast, and having fun :)

Desired skills:

• Active user of Shareaholic
• Fluency with PHP, Python, JavaScript (JQuery), MySQL administration. Experience with large data sets (Hadoop/Map-Reduce) preferred.
• Major contributor to an open source project
• Demonstrable experience building web services at scale
• Ability to learn and adopt new languages, libraries, and technologies as needed
• Strong command of web standards
• A passion for coding (show us your side projects!)
• Hard working and know how to enjoy the process of grinding things out
• Obsessed with web technology's latest news and trends
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced (we do multiple releases each day), dynamic startup environment; in small teams with little or no supervision and be self-driven.
• Great communication, organization, project management & team leading skills; able to deal with both business and technical folks
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent)

This position is full-time and based in our offices in Central Square, Cambridge, MA.
