The Role: Creative Director
Reports to: Chief Experience Officer
The Job: Gemvara’s mission is to have more loyal customers than any other jeweler. We want everyone who interacts with Gemvara to have the most memorable experience possible, in every sense of the word. That experience begins the first time someone hears about (or sees) Gemvara. As the leader of the Creative Team you will own the development and execution of Gemvara’s Creative strategy and determine the best way for Gemvara to visually represent ourselves. The right person understands how to balance convention with invention to drive amazing Creative strategy!
What You’ll Do:
- Develop creative programs and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization
Proactively lead creative programs that advance our brand strategy and identity
Create and communicate (internally) a clear view of the future of how the Gemvara brand manifests itself creatively
Lead the development of seasonal creative campaigns and executions
Direct the creation of marketing collateral, advertisements (online/offline), promotions and site related creative
Build, manage & mentor the Creative and Copy Teams
Develop and evolve Gemvara content strategy
Partner with Marketing and Merchandising to develop necessary campaign concepts (and present to management as needed)
Host weekly Creative brainstorms and ideation sessions
Promote a culture of creative innovation and experimentation
Collaborate with UX team to ensure proper Brand Identity principles are being applied to the Interaction and feature set of the site experience
Create quarterly “Future of Design” reports for the company to review and incorporate into daily work as appropriate
Negotiate and manage business vendor relationships as needed
Requirements:
- Experience leading strategic brainstorming sessions, campaign development, creative brief development and directing creative execution
- Able to provide comprehensive portfolio of previous creative designs
- Highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS a plus
- Proven experience designing creative for Direct Marketing purposes
- Proven experience owning Brand Identity efforts
- Extremely passionate about leading and developing a collaborative team
- Highly customer-focused, versatile, creative thinker
- Understanding of analyzing marketing metrics
- Strong understanding of modern ecommerce User Experience principles
- 8+ years working within Creative at a consumer lifestyle brand(s), ecommerce preferrred
- 5+ years management experience leading and developing at team of at least 4
- Excellent written, verbal & negotiation communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Creative field
