Chief Revenue Officer

The Chief Revenue Officer is the senior leader who is directly responsible for leading sales and marketing to increase the company’s revenue. S/he is a key member of Cantina’s leadership team who creates and drives strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals. The CRO serves as the “chief evangelist” for Cantina who tells a compelling story about Cantina’s services to current and potential customers and expertly builds new relationships.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Planning and Execution - 50%

  • Develop plans and strategies for developing business
  • Oversee the marketing function to establish successful brand, channel and partner programs
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting to Executive Team
  • Effectively manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions

Sales and Marketing Operations - 50%

  • Manage the sales and marketing team, sales operations and resources to deliver profitable growth; hire and develop sales staff, and define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their goals
  • Define and oversee incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets
  • Define appropriate processes for new account creation and existing account development
  • Create and manage the budget for the sales team
  • Plan for and manage inbound leads effectively
  • Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 5 years of executive-level leadership experience in sales and marketing within a professional services (e.g., digital agency or consultancy) and solution selling environment
  • Experience leading a sales team of at least three people with revenue responsibilities of $20m+
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience in building successful partnerships with marketing teams and demonstrated ability to provide “voice of the customer data” when needed

Working Conditions

  • Work is typically performed in an office environment
  • Regular travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships is required
