The 11th floor kitchen and surrounding areas is now officially The Venture Cafe (in alpha form) during certain hours of the week. This is a prototype edition of the real Venture Cafe, which will be an actual cafe in Kendall Square that’s open from early to late to help connect members of the entrepreneurship and innovation community by creating a hub for building relationships. The driving reason behind us starting Venture Cafe in this temporary location, prior to opening in our permanent location, is to enable us to begin immediately hosting VC office hours–a much requested mechanism for members of entrepreneurial community at large to connect with the VC community. As part of the Start Here! initiative kicked off by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick at CIC last week, between March 4th and May 20th a dozen leading local venture capital firms will make partners available to meet with entrepreneurs. This program has been organized by the New England Venture Capital Association. The meetings are Thursdays from 2-5PM, and you can sign up for a slot here.
