Tony Tjan of Cue Ball Capital has studied, advised on and invested in numerous companies from the perspectives of an entrepreneur, contributing writer for Harvard Business Review, and now venture capitalist. Next year, Harvard Business School Publishing will be launching his book focused on the attributes of successful business building. While founders typically have significant technical knowledge, he will share perspectives on the DNA of entrepreneurship based personal experience and his interactions with entrepreneurs and business builders across different countries.

His own recent initiative has been the launch of a new human capital centricĀ model for venture capital and in 2008 he founded and is Managing Partner of Cue Ball Capital, a Boston-based venture and early growth equity firm focusing on investments in digital media, information services, and branded consumer concepts. The firm has been highly active in its relatively short history has attracted a top flight tier of advisory investors in the fund and placed close to $25M to date across 8 businesses with plans to invest $100M more over the coming years.
