With a few notable exceptions, banks have generally not been known as the first place a start-up entrepreneur should look for financing — unless he/she has a house to put up as collateral. Word on the street suggests that may be changing.
Consolidation in the banking industry has resulted in increasingly well-financed regional and local banks that are looking to put their money to work. Some of the national banks, already pros at the start-up game, are looking to grow their portfolios as well. Perhaps now is the time for you talk to a banker about investing in your new business.
Join our panelists in a discussion of working with the banks to finance your start-up.
Panelists
Pete McDonald, Senior Relationship Manager, Silicon Valley Bank
Bob Foley, Square 1 Bank
