When it comes to startups, SVB's Dan Allred has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Here's the deal - it's all about the numbers. Many entrepreneurs bite of more than they can chew with sophisticated business models. Others drown in vanity metrics.
In this class, Dan will take you back to basics, covering the fundamental metrics and financial accounting principles that will make or break your startup. We'll start with an overview of key metric definitions, the stuff you need to be well versed in to run a business. From there, things will get REALLY crazy, with Dan covering Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements (we'll try to keep him under control). Dan will wrap with advice around when to outsource your accounting and when it makes sense to bring someone in-house.
We bet your brain will be ready for a breather by the end of this one. Join us for cocktails after to cut loose and connect.
