Entrepreneurs (generally) are not lawyers, and may not know the full extent of how the law can help or hurt them. In fact, there are many legal considerations that impact start-up companies and entrepreneurs, particularly in the areas of business formation and structuring, equity and debt financing, and intellectual property protection. This class will touch on these topics and more, and teach students about the core legal issues that affect small businesses.

About the Instructor

Darren Braham is a corporate lawyer at Prince Lobel Tye LLP in Boston, MA. Darren focuses his practice on corporate and business law and is licensed to practice in both the U.K. and U.S. Darren counsels clients in all stages of the business development cycle, from entrepreneurs and start-up companies to emerging companies to established businesses. In particular, he advises on formation and business structuring, mergers and acquisitions, financing, employment and ownership issues, securities compliance, intellectual property, and tax issues.
